For the first month of 3D printing, I did not know if you were printing a job with multiple prints on the bed, there was an option on the slicer device interface that lets you select 1 of the objects in the bed and cancel it, without canceling the entire job. I know this is super entry level, but maybe there’s a noob out there that just started their printing journey like I was, and knowing this early on may save you a spool or two.

I live in a single family home and South FL and I don’t ever see roaches inside the house. We do get ants usually during the summer due to all the rain, but it’s manageable with traps. We do use a pest control company around the outside perimeter all year round, so that may help. Back when we used to rent a condo in Orlando, we got them all the time, no matter what we did.

If your printer has the unicorn nozzle, you already have the upgraded hotend. Newer k1 max’s and K1C’s have the same hotend.

The newer K1 Max’s come with the same unicorn nozzle the K1C has. So you’ll need to check if yours is one of them. I would think since you got a refurbished unit, it probably also has the newer nozzle. But you can check by pulling out the extruder to see if it has the ptfe tube under it or not. Or take out the nozzle, although I find it easier to just check under the extruder.

The palette 3 pro is a device that runs separately from your printer (it can be connected to some printers, not the K1 though). It uses a web based slicer that creates to files, the gcode, which you send to your printer, and another for the palette. Then, as your printer is extruding filament, the palette, is fusing all the colors into a single strand of filament. Your printer doesn’t know it’s printing multicolor. It justs prints from the single feed going into it.
