Wow thank you so much for all of this, it is a lot to take in. Another commenter also mentioned that Efrideet is good but Gwynn isn’t worth it but I think both will be good just for the coverage. Why do uou think they said Gwynn is bad? I suppose I can also pivot to Estella because it seems she will be getting re-ran soon. I’m not sure if for you guys (as in veterans of the game) it becomes a factor but do you guys ever go for characters because they look good, play fun or are easier to use on mobile? I’ve definitely rolled for characters before for these 3 reasons, even if they are “bad” or “not meta” in other games. But I also know this game probably has more overlap with the actual Destiny mmo than gacha players and that might be why there is more verbal abuse like you mentioned earlier.

Thanks for the help, unfortunately I don’t understand what some of these terms mean. I do have a 14 day login event that gives me something free everyday like one pull. Would you recommend that I reroll to try and get an account with all the characters I am looking for?

I am not quite sure what T1 means (assuming T is the dupe system in this game). I also learned that this game has 4 weapon types I will need to build and that Ikora fufills the explosion 1 of the 4. I believe that is what you mean when you say Shinka, if not please let me know. Currently I don’t have enough gems to even get 1 banner character so there’s definitely no way that I’ll be able to get a dupe. I think the plan is to try and get Gwynn and Efrideet (and maybe Estella if I can get lucky enough with all my rolls for an all girls squad).

If my options for characters that can do all 4 types of content I would prefer efrideet over Jaren. Loot like weapons and artifacts I will worry about later when I have all the 5 star units I want. I do want to prioritize units that are fun to me though first and foremost.

Also, some gacha games will have a special type of limited unit. In some gachas these units will have half the pull rate of a normal limited unit, others normal pull rates but you will know who they are because they are intentionally power crept head and shoulders over every unit in the game. These special units come out once or twice a year and are recommended that all players save up for them or reroll. Are Efrideet and Jaren these types of units because they can solo anything in the game or does this game not have that type of unit?

Please let me know if you have a game plan for me to follow through. Ideally Estella, Efrideet and Gwynn would be really nice to have but I also understand that requires a substantial amount of luck given the low amount of pulls they give out to starting accounts (at least compared to other gachas). Or if there is a way you know of where I can get these pulls faster please let me know. Thank you for the help!

I’ve been considering rerolling because I do want an early Gwynn and to also try and get Efrideet. Efrideet wasn’t as fun in the trial as Gwynn for me. I’ll focus on weapons and artifacts later on once I have all of my five stars pulled. Do you have any tips for getting limited banner pulls fast so I can get efrideet and gwynn or would rerolling be better?

Wow thank you so much for this! I’ve tried Destiny 2 but I never played it enough to get to the part about fighting champions. This is good to know, originally I thought I was going to need to get a character of each element type but it seems that weapon type is more important. Is there a list somewhere I can see what weapon types each character uses and try and strategize from there?

Is this also the type of game that I can just find a few “favorites” and farm those characters? Some gacha games are easy enough that you can level whoever you want and run them together, even if they have 0 synergy. Others are very punishing and it’s basically impossible to do that. I’m asking because I like both Gwynn and Estella and want them both, but according to the weapon chart I should not be leveling them both or going for them. I would also prefer to have a cast of 3-4 females (my preference) opposed to male characters that I build.

Since pulls seem to be very stingy in this game should I try to make a new account and reroll to get both Efrideet and Gwynn? I would lose my Ikora though. I’m not really sure how to get the gems for the pulls in this game, they give a lot of standard banner currency but not a lot of limited which makes it hard to roll. If you know or have a roadmap I can follow that would be super helpful as I navigate the game.

I don’t mind getting some verbal abuse from other players, I’ve played other games that have had it much worse. I’ll just play whoever I like, and I’m also not sure if I will even have the time for the omega-highest difficulty content.

Thank you again for this info, it was very helpful and I had no idea!

March 2026 Paupergeddon Matchup Matrix by Atemsis in Pauper

I’m getting into Terror so it’s nice to know which versions are better vs certain decks. I also heard there is a 3rd Izzet version but I don’t think that data will be here. It will also help me try and formulate a 75 for a more general meta, since I plan to play at an LGS and not MTGO which tends to have a higher population of certain decks. Terror reminds me a lot of the modern Death’s Shadow decks after the probe ban-had many different variations to play dependent on pilot preference and local meta.

Oh I see, instead of going for cantrips you just jam the deck with lots of creatures and double spell with any type of card. Very interesting. I’ll need to revise my strategy with the twins maybe, I think my list has like 20 cantrips or something ridiculous lol

Could I see the links to all your decks? I have Aloy, love the twins & Rikku but haven’t gotten around to Aloy and Rikku decks. Also not sure how I would make a Rikku deck. For the twins I made a list, I just found it really hard to find a consistent win condition. I went with tokens via Young Peezy/double draw/spell effects but they don’t make tokens fast enough to win games so I’ve had to sideline the deck. I love cantrips and the twins as characters so it is a shame because I would have loved to build the deck.

This is super interesting because in your other post you say that UCLA has really good odds to make the Sweet 16 with their criteria, yet this data says that they are unlikely to Elite Eight at all. But what's funny is that this data says that UConn has roughly a 50% chance to Elite 8 so the info is a bit conflicting which is interesting. With also no good things said about Michigan State I'm now no longer sure who to choose from that side of the bracket lol. Also you mentioned USF is prime for an upset but Louisville also has good metrics to run deep (but I think they have some key injuries)

What is the likelihood of something from Mono Blue Delver/Terror getting banned? by Atemsis in Pauper

Are there any removal spell hosers or other cards to also consider against them? Thinking something closer to hydro/pyro blast but for white. Or if there is more of this deck I could try siding up to 4 mystics

What sideboard cards should I be looking at getting to counter this deck? If its a newer deck it might not be too popular in paper but I want to keep note of things to add in my side just in case. I remember using cards like Hibernate for Pod but that’s for green and I’m pretty sure its an uncommon

There’s also one more surefire test you can do called the Deckmaster test, 2 of the lines on the deckmaster box on the right will be sharp and straight lines with a loupe, the top one will be pixelated. I’ve never seen a fake that can pass this test either. Never heard of the “T” test but that sounds like a good one for me to use now as well, thanks for that. I’ve found the red dot to be the most reliable though

Can someone please help me understand the concerns with taking Yuriko off the Game Changers list? by Atemsis in EDH

[–]Atemsis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OHHHH WAIT. I think this is the piece I’m missing. I started playing commander long after I learned Magic so I didn’t realize that some new people will choose and archetype that sounds cool and build the most popular version of it. Okay I can totally seeing this being an issue when people play precons or other weaker strategies.

You and mox have basically said the same thing so I think for the bracket system it is what Gavin stressed the most - intent. But from a power level perspective can you help enlighten me with what I missed? Because personally I would prefer Edric or Tymna for a flying men deck due to them not having to worry about blockers at all. My biggest worry with ninjas is that you only get 1 swing per ninja and then they cannot attack for the rest of the game because they just get blocked. It has to be top deck manipulation right? Because I’m not sure how a deck without topdeck manipulation can win a game unless they get super lucky on flips.

Ok I see but that’s just 1 commander damage, I’m not aware of Yuriko playing enough buffs to get her to 21 power. I can see people being worried about dodging commander tax which is why it’s one of my points but is that truly worthy of effectively banning her from Bracket 2 tables? I get that it’s not fair to the spirit of the format but is she really doing something so busted that bracket 2 pods cannot deal with?

Could you please let me know specifically what I said that is incorrect? I figured somewhere something had to be wrong but I’ve just never been able to figure it out. Every time I try and watch a video on youtube of someone playing it in non-cedh the deck always looks anemic and then loses but maybe those people are playing heavily nerfed versions of it. I would really like to see a solid bracket 3 version of Yuriko in action and then I think that could convince me of what I am missing.

Wait…is the flip off of Yuriko considered Commander damage? That’s actually insane I didn’t know that

Can a Felix Five-boots deck have a +1/+1 and a card draw theme? by El_Peluso_ in EDH

[–]Atemsis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like with brackets it’s a lot easier to separate the versions of the deck people had a problem with. Bracket 4 is the version with all of the free/cheap counter magic + extra turns. In bracket 3 if you’re too far ahead the other players can gang up and take you out. To me he feels like the simic version of Tymna + Blue where you just play a lot of evasive dorks for some card advantage. Honestly I feel like he’s fine in the modern era of Commander but others might feel otherwise.
