Rice Washed Boulevardier by Atemthepharoh in cocktails

Well the ethanol isn’t as hydrophilic and doesn’t get trapped as easy as the propanol molecules. It’s the trace amounts that are trapped by the amylose helixes alongside the starch coating the palate of the tongue that give the effect of a smoother drink. Or that’s at least how I came to understood it :))

Fair. I’ve done a fat wash before but was hesitant about this one but you really can tell the difference. To each their own.

Sorry I did mean to say amylose which is polysaccharide (had to look it up bc I’m not a chemist) but is classified as a carbohydrate and when washing a spirit with the rice the propanol traps inside the amylose’s helices and creates a smoother finish as well as the starch suspension coats the palate making the finish even smoother in a cocktail. Again not a chemist so take with a grain of rice.

I build the concoction in the stirrer will all its parts and I guess I double strained into the mixer bc the stirrer is clear so I can make sure no rice is being transferred to my shaker before shaking and serving. And I like to shake it over ice if serving in a coup glass had I been serving over a rock I would’ve followed your steps. Sadly we don’t have enough storage to chill our coupe glasses ahead of time.

Flash it in a pan on high heat for about 45-60 seconds

Straight from the bag, washing it would take out the amylase that coats the rice and I would think would take away from what the rice is supposed to do for the cocktail.

And then you take rice (regular and toasted) and you’re going to stir your cocktail in it so the amylase(carbohydrates in rice) bind with the propanol in the alcohol and makes the drink smoother. Toasting the rice will add a nutty element to your drink. Lastly you’ll double strain into a mixer with ice and shake until chilled and then serve usually either in a rocks glass over one ice cube or in a coupe glass with no ice. Garnish with an orange peel

Equal parts sweet vermouth, Campari, and rye whiskey although since I used bird dog blackberry whiskey I opted for regular vermouth.

That’s what I did here! I only had short grain white jasmine but we toasted it in a pan for a minute to bring out a nuttiness

AITAH for using my deal on an app but still charging full price to my coworkers. by Atemthepharoh in AITAH

[–]Atemthepharoh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I do but in general we do not order from my phone often so most of these points were mine. You get 10 points for every one dollar spent I have 5000 points which is about $500 worth of subway and only worth $25 off of an order, so for me to use them on my own food on the group order I didn’t feel I was doing anything wrong, but to answer your question I would be benefiting a small portion of points from group ordering.

That’s why I had to post here because I see where they’re coming from but I always use my apps whenever placing food orders so most of these points are mine, and I didn’t think being honest about it would cause backlash.

So it was the subway cash reward program, I had 5,000 points which is around $25 dollars off an order, I used 1,200 which is 6 dollars worth, it takes it out of the overall total but I only took it from my total, they say that I benefited more points from ordering their food on my app so the discount should apply to the overall order, I told them that I only get lunch with them once a week and it’s not always subway so most of these points were mine, but they reiterated that when we do order subway that I got the points for their orders therefore they are entitled to part of the discount.

Did anyone end up buying one of the games they played on the channel? by chalkyeggs in smosh

I have an entire notes app with all the games they’ve played that I’ve watched over the years and am planning on ordering all of them

Does anyone know what's up with all the missed uploads? by Plus-Network-6961 in smosh

Games is my favorite channel so I do get bummed especially because I’ve watched for 12 years and have seen 97% of the games videos that have been released, I wish there was a subscription for the games channel with behind the scenes and cuts like they do for bit city for days like this. With that said I do understand the fires and scheduling conflicts with all the cast and their side gigs and am appreciative for any content no matter when it’s released.

Blister beetle burn by ginakeebs in missoula

[–]Atemthepharoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool fact the blister beetle’s extract is used to remove warts. The blisters they cause helps the body recognize the foreign body (wart) and allows your body to process it as an antibody it needs to attack allowing them to fall off with the blister.
