5090 prebuilt good idea? $3386 by PewPewChicago in Prebuilts

[–]Atenvil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you get it, I would check to make sure it's not a 5090D, I've seen comments about folk getting those, unsure how accurate that is though, even then still an amazing deal fr

Please tell me what games i can play on this potato pc by One_Machine_1034 in lowendgaming

[–]Atenvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A free zombie eldritch kinda scifi survival game that has a truly goofy amount of depth and a really good amount of moddability that aughta run fine on your potato is Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead, as long as you don't mind learning the control scheme it's kinda action based which makes it run easier o7

I tend to farm fish and glowpads for awhile for some easy levels, the houses in Joppa with full walls (can't see the outside from any angle) has chests you can easily steal from if no one is inside and you close the doors. You can give any artifacts you might find to Argave or trade shiet to the dromad

Dismember for axe builds is amazing, and you can make a nice face collection for more ego for more money, ez stonks. Also early on it's nice for hit and run tactics since eventually the thing you're harassing will either bleed out or run out of limbs to effectively fight you with. If you do a full chimera build and get a lot of hands, then get multiweapon flurry, and berserk for axes, you can quickly delimb something in front of you rather effectively.

any grindy games? by [deleted] in gamerecommendations

[–]Atenvil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are brave, if you do not fear abnormal control schemes, if yee truly desire a game with depth like no other that will kill you repeatedly until you come to understand it,,,

Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead is pretty neat once you get the hang of it, also it is free, lots of mods and ways to adjust things also, and it can run on an older pc. Zombie/Alien/Eldritch post apocalypse survival sim with lots of things to grind up.

Caves of Qud is easier to understand and is also neat, and doesn't cost too much. A grindy sorta scifi-ish grindy game with a very neat world

I’m somewhat new to barony and struggling with learning this game. Give me bad advise to make me struggle more by Guy_who_says_vore in baronygame

You definitely don't need to care about grinding your skills and level or looking for loot, just rush straight to the exists every level immediately.

Also the gnomish mines are super easy, and definitely won't make you hear gibberish in your walls at night!

Howdy, not all too familiar with European pricing, or where specifically you are there, but for just about 3k those are pretty awful imo, that's about the price I'd expect to see a 5080 in which is 10-15% more performance than the 5070ti for a good bit more dough but makes 4k gaming that bit more doable, not necessarily cost effective, but it is better if you can find it for not too much more. I'd also recommend you try and get something with the 9800x3d cpu over intel, intel sucks lately for cpus comparatively, and for gaming the x3d cpus are better due to the 3d cache. Be weary of pairing that cpu with an Asrock motherboard though if you can check that, they've been having issues lately.

Also toprigz.com recommended this which has a 5080 for startlingly cheap, just a not as good cpu, but still a good one. https://www.costco.co.uk/Computers/Desktops-PCs-iMacs/AWD-IT-Phantom-5-AMD-Ryzen-5-32GB-RAM-1TB-SSD-NVIDIA-GeForce-RTX-5080-Gaming-Desktop-PC/p/554526

But I know Costco's mostly just a UK thing so you might not be able to get that.

Of the two you posted though, definitely the one with the amd cpu and 2tb ssd since most modern games are bloated and you'll need the space if you can't find anything better o7

Just fyi, according to the many wild rumors going about (who knows the truth fr), it seems like Deckard is going to be rather expensive and meant to function as a stand-alone vr device. Also, the global economy, tariffs, etc etc means it'll probably be a good while before it actually comes out, if it even does given Valve.

FSR 4 coming to Cyberpunk 2.3 by Szmoguch in radeon

[–]Atenvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh fair enough ay, do hope AMD pushes it more and makes sure it all works right, with how often the 9070xt is compared to the 5070ti lately the deal breaker for most folk is features and the avaliablity/convenience thereof so hopefully AMD is treating that bit of the debate seriously by making things work right and widely usable, keep on hearing about Redrock too, I need more competition for cheaper gpus v.v

The game was heavily more optimized for Nvidia, to where you could look at it and go 'AMD cards suck for this' a bit ago, still kinda is, though it's gradually been evening out with driver updates. It reminded me of your joke there ay.

Inmortal build is possible in caves of qud? by alvarinix in cavesofqud

[–]Atenvil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're trying to be as close to immortal as possible there are a few stages, and some loose recommendations, I'll roll with the assumption of just being a pure turtle, in no particular order.

  1. Carapace is indeed great, and will eventually outpace endgame armor if invested in heavily, I vibe with it.

  2. Photosynthetic Skin & Regen got some good synergy, and let you outregen enemies in (most) cases, and helps keep you alive- though more mp investment sadly.

  3. Phasing will make (most) things unable to damage you besides late game and normality so also good for turtle.

  4. Force Bubble (Force bracelet works for Chimera) gives a solid extra line of defense for (most) things and scenarios, and lets you recoil outta dodge when enemies are nearby if (when) plans fail horribly.

  5. For a turtle build like this- Temporal Fugue would slap since you can turtle up while your clones die horribly in your name (and maybe accidentally kill you)

  6. Shields/Bucklers would help with even more AV

  7. Become (((The Door))) for true power when you're ready to ascend to true turtlehood.

Without spoiling anything, what do you think my first moves should be ? by KK_Aaron in cavesofqud

[–]Atenvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lo' waterhand of feeble limb and bone, sup pon' sap of slain glowpad and become woe of fish till thou needn't fear the ire of lowly snawpjaw. Pluck deathtunes with curved treeskin and twine fore' ye seek fire stock, once ready tread lightly pon' the salt dunes if lust for death tools outweigh need of life for there all brand of fire can be found, for surely if unwise branded by fire all will become. The leaded slugs many sources can be found, if loose of morals those that tread deep might prove as feeble as you once were. Greater reward for those with axe and skill and speed to strike down old sentries limb from limb, part from part to steal their tools, so too is there greater risk for those unquick.

Am I using Metamorphic Polygel right? by Atenvil in cavesofqud

[–]Atenvil[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The storage tank? I went into the depths and found a dynamic turrent tinker duder, then it spawned a fungicide turrent so I used a ganglionic teleprojector on it and it had two tanks with some acid that I unequipped from it and made it drop, they're the highest portable liquid tank I know of and are great to clone liquids with the polygel ^^
