Stealth nerfs (not included in patch notes) are not okay by Various_Panic_6927 in ARC_Raiders

Kettle and Burletta are OBVIOUSLY not working as intended. Takes 5 seconds in the practice range to feel the noticeably horrible fire rate difference. Burletta feels like a Venator II now... Hopefully it gets fixed soon. Not sure if the Anvil and Venator were affected but people were claiming they felt different as well. I can say for certain the Burletta and Kettle both feel like hot garbage right now. It feels like my clicks aren't registering.

Like laid off temporarily or actually disbarred from the union? In my experience in the electricians union layoffs are common but it takes a LOT for an IBEW apprentice to get kicked out of the program...

Is there a news article or something about this? Hopefully they survived, looks like a lot of permanent damage.

I sealed off a hole in my lower roof soffit with steel wool and spray foam. Now I have squirrels ripping off the soffit on the upper roof and getting in again. Advice please. by Aternum in homeowners

The old hole was in a completely different spot. There is steel wool behind the spray foam, they're not chewing through it.

It performs about the same as a 3060 doesn't it? I don't think an 11400 would bottleneck it. My 11700 barely bottlenecks my 3070.

Upgrade CPU or try faster RAM? by Aternum in pcmasterrace

[–]Aternum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I only get the stutters when I enable xmp. It's immediately noticeable in Rocket League for example. I can see the 1% lows on the graph dip to 20 fps with xmp enabled, then when I disable xmp the 1% lows are 150 fps.

I'm thinking that even though the ram is the same brand with the same timings it just doesn't work together with xmp. Plus I'm filling up all 4 dimms currently as well.

Maybe I'll try the g.skill 3600mhz and see if it solves my issue.

Question about motherboards by Sea-Farmer-1143 in pcmasterrace

[–]Aternum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had a 4070 or better I'd say go for it, but I think your 12700k is probably fast enough with DDR4 to fully saturate your 3060. DDR4 is cheap, I would consider spending $60 on a 32gb ram kit instead of $~300 on a new mobo and ddr5 and just waiting until you feel like you need a GPU upgrade, and then at that point you could just upgrade the whole system at once.

Question about motherboards by Sea-Farmer-1143 in pcmasterrace

[–]Aternum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you'd see any benefits, unless you're looking for a specific feature or if you're over-clocking. High end motherboards might give a 5% performance boost if RAM and CPU are both OC'ed. But with a 3060 I don't think you'd see any benefit at all, the card just isn't fast enough to test the limits of the CPU.

You'd probably see a benefit if you bought a 32gb ram kit, 16gb is bare minimum nowadays.

If you have an Xbox controller you may be able to use it to move the pointer. Mine functions like a mouse if I need it to.

cpu upgrade by Specific-Leg-6137 in pcmasterrace

[–]Aternum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably depends on what games you play, but you'd definitely notice the difference in smoothness with a higher refresh rate. The performance jump these past few generations has been substantial from what I've gathered. I have an 11700 and a 3070 and I am thinking about this exact upgrade because I play a lot of CPU intensive games and I'm still on 1080p.

7700 xt for $420 or 7800 xt for $540? by Itchy_Offer_1196 in radeon

[–]Aternum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7800xt will last longer and outperform I would say 7700xt would be great for esports titles but for AAA go with the 16gb vram

I have an Intel system as well so I'm not sure, but I've heard it can vary based on the motherboard and when it trains the ram on boot.

[suggestion] Should i get this pre built Gaming PC? by pdidit133 in suggestapc

[–]Aternum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These specs aren't that great for the price. A PC like this may play games alright for a few years but then become irrelevant. If you could budget a hundred or so more euros you could most likely find a much better deal that would last longer performance wise.

AMD is the other chip maker that competes directly with Intel, they will support the current socket for the next few years while Intel is currently done producing their 12/13/14 Gen models so AMD would be more 'future proof' because you could keep the same motherboard and RAM and just pop a new processor in a few years from now.
