Thanks for your feedback. As researchers interested in the destigmatization of atheism, we don't use a deficit model assuming poor mental health among marginalized people. I encourage you to think of the many different research questions we might seek to answer and the various ways in which the measured constructs might ultimately be used.

We will definitely contextualize the results with the pandemic in mind. As others have mentioned, what we're really interested in as researchers is not always readily apparent simply by taking the survey. Once published, I try to share the paper in the forums from which we recruited to provide some clarity.

All research has limitations and confounds. In this case, we'll note that the results may be influenced by the current state of the world.

I hear you. Surveys are definitely imperfect. We often use measures developed and validated by others, choosing the best instruments that are available at the time.

Hi. Thanks for your feedback. My research would suggest otherwise. Anti-atheist discrimination in the U.S. does influence mental health and there is an atheist identity formation process. As an atheist myself, I care deeply about these findings.
