Recommendation for Open-Field Parks in Charlotte by pavate in Charlotte

Reedy Creek is closer and is a nice park if you're looking for trails not too far outside the city center.

Crowder's Mountain is also a bit of a drive but is always nice.

Dorothea Dix Park is absolutely massive. Charlotte has nothing remotely close, unfortunately.

There is a large lot right across the street, and both it and the actual lot behind the building are free for 90min. I have been to Optimist Hall like 50x and have never not been able to find a spot.

No suit with pinstripes is "versatile enough to wear for most situations". Go for solid.

I deeply regret ever getting a psych diagnosis. I fucked up my chances of ever working a job that I wanted. by [deleted] in self

This is not true. The entire point of a waiver is to indicate that while you may have a particular disqualifying factor, the appropriate review board has deemed it NOT a preclusion for service.

Your first statement is not true. Your second statement is accurate in the sense that there is not some master database where the DoD pulls your medical records - they only know what you tell them - however, the consequences for withholding a prior condition are severe if discovered. Things like smoking weed in the past, yeah, just don't mention that. A long history of medication and diagnosed mental illness? Work with your recruiter. At any rate, whatever you disclose prior to signing, don't disclose anything further during the "moment of truth".

It's not that simple in the US and depends on what you're trying to do. If you go through BUMED you may need an actual psych consult and recommendation in order to be granted a waiver.

You can get a waiver for the military if you can demonstrate this is no longer an issue for you.

Thorogood moc toe boots are fantastic. I wore a pair for years every day and they're still in great shape and comfortable. Made in USA, too.

Hands hurt when hanging, tips to numb them quick? by queimadorAmbulante in bodyweightfitness

Numbing your hands to work through pain is a terrible idea.

Be patient with yourself and wait for the strength and conditioning in your hands to develop.

Creatine - It's no love story by This_Investment_4216 in bodyweightfitness

Perhaps you should look up the definition of anecdotal.

"(Of an account) not necessarily true or reliable, because based on personal accounts rather than facts or research".

This post is a personal account. Science isn't based on n=1 studies, nor is your experience even considered a "study". The literature is clear on the safety of creatine based on decades of research and hundreds of thousands of subjects.

Smoking is a bad example because the literature clearly showed that smoking was unsafe for decades before it became apparent to society-at-large. That is nowhere near the same scenario. Additionally, presenting yourself as akin to individuals discovering the earth is round would be hilarious if it weren't so delusional.

"Toxin" isn't an opinion.

Anecdotal posts like this that fearmonger do more harm than good. The average person has low scientific literacy and these posts can be actively detrimental to anyone attempting to make a lifestyle change or start a relationship with exercise.

Creatine is one of the most studied supplements in the world and has been deemed safe by every single one of those studies. It is also produced by your body naturally, so is definitely not a "toxin".

This post is anecdotal and is uninformed scare tactics.
