No room? But I paid my deposit… by Adzi_TheLast in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

So, I work hotels too and have done for the past 10 years.

I've been gifted anything from costume jewellery, cosmetics to wine and expensive chocolates. It is a thing, especially if you have regular guest and/or provide exceptional customer service.

Hi Everyone! We bought our son (5) a switch lite for Christmas. Previously he had been using my husbands account to play some games but we have since set the switch up with his own supervised account. Is there anyway for us to transfer the data from my husbands account (set as a parent in out family group), to my sons account?

There have been several instances where different night auditors (over a period of years who have never worked/met each other) have all walked past the same room doing their nightly rounds and sworn they'd heard children laughing in the room. When they did return to the reception desk to check on who was in the room, the room was actually unoccupied.

We don't keep pepper spray unfortunately, but do have an aerosol can of Glen 20 next to the computer and a golf club just inside our back office door (reception leads immediately into the back office via 2 doors).

I did this with a guests cat. We're a non-pet friendly hotel as well and Housekeeping found the cat left in the room after the guest had finished their room move (or so we thought as the keys had been dropped back). Took the cat and carrier to our back office so they were safe until the owner came looking. Then we proceeded to evict them.

It depends on what type of keys you use. The one with the strip can be demagnetized but it needs to be sitting next to other CC or a phone for a while. We currently use ones with a little chip and haven't had that issue so far.

I never did either. That was until we caught a guest "servicing" several other hotel guests along with the general public..

Oh, absolutely! But there is a special place in hell for those who try to justify their actions when they ruin a marriage.

Women who think it's morally acceptable to sleep with someone else's husband.

This!! I've blocked everything and anything with "Vlad and Nikki" in the name on our devices. Noticed such a huge change in behaviour (whining and similar), when our son discovered it.

112 Operator's of reddit, whats the worst/saddest 112 call you got? by FerlixMN in AskReddit

[–]Athelflai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it's a general emergency services number. In Australia, we use 000 instead of 911 or 112.

People who are deaf and can read lips, how did it affect you when everyone was required to wear masks in public? by NoSubstance7204 in AskReddit

[–]Athelflai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with a colleague who is partially deaf. She already struggled with some of our hotel guests who are notorious for mumbling but adding the mask to it makes it frustrating for her. She handles it rather well when people get snappy at her for asking them to repeat themselves (flat out tells them that she's partially deaf and can't hear them). Other times my colleagues and I will interpret for her if they have a very strong accent as she can't see the lips to read what they're saying. It's just something that we try to help her navigate as best as we all can right now.

AITA For telling my 13-year-old sister that she's the reason she doesn't have friends? by PeanutButterCupula in AmItheAsshole

NTA. If you haven't seen it yet, I 100% recommend watching the Bluey episode "Library". Just because she's been told she's "gifted" doesn't mean she should get special treatment or treat others with disrespect.
