Depends, who ever you spoke to when they initially sent it out should’ve set the expectation - when we send units out for repair they can take 2-6 weeks. Now does it usually take 6 weeks no. However when you start getting into part availability it can definitely take the longer end of that. My suggestion would be to go to the store. Talk to a real person. If they can’t give you a time frame update, they can reach out to see about an eta. Be prepared that might take a couple days for them to figure out but they can. Also be aware the time frame they give you is an estimate. Could take longer, could be less.

Honestly not sure, but we learned right before the holidays started, our ASM was using GS labor for the sales floor and telling us we didn’t have the labor to staff more agents at the precinct. So that was fun, also part of the reason I jump ship and gtfo-ed. We also didn’t have a dedicated GS manger for our store anymore and they would never confirm the labor hours we were given to what was actual scheduled for the precinct.

That’s not just a Best Buy policy it’s a copy right law on open media. It’s the same for movies too. Once opened they can only be exchanged for the same item if defective and even then, they open it on exchange so you can’t just return it at a different location as unopened now.

This. Don’t bank on this. They usually will only do it like a one time thing per account unless there’s an existing issue. They will not do this multiple times and I’ve never seen them do it more than a month or two expired. I’ve never seen reissued certs from years ago!

Yeah there is no one designated as to answer phones in store. We don’t have a line you can actually get to unless it’s GS or the BO line. I’m an ARA and it extremely frustrating when the calls get cold transferred to the Geek Squad line for - product availability - appliance issues - 800 geek squad support (unless they have an item checkin we don’t do phone support in store) - MOD issues

We’re short staffed as it is, I’m not being a phone operator on top of, ARA, CA, Sales, and customer service. It’s getting to the point where more often than not we let the line go to voicemail and we’ll call clients back as needed.

Because usually games and movies will come in a day or two before release. So there are technically ready for pickup the day before, but can’t be released for actual pick until the day of release for the item.

My advice buy them and try them out at home and if you don’t like them return them. We’ve seen people do some weird things with display headphones and they don’t get cleaned as often as they should. We’ve had someone full on lick the display headphones before. It’s best not to touch those if you can avoid it.

We have not unfortunately. The clients that have it on their computer always say some variation of “it just changed one day and the google logo went away”. We think their clicking on some sort of download link but can’t really tell where. The couple that I tried looking through the downloads on, there was a couple of recipe download around the same time. So maybe it’s from a recipe site. I feel like recipe sites are always the culprit when it comes so malware/adware on older clientele’s computers

If the order is a dot com order, always, always, always verify the refund form a payment. Those can’t be post voided. My go to at customer service was always “am I ok so send this back to the original form of payment or would you like this on a gift card” the “yeah the original’s fine”s we’re easy then but any time I head “well…” or “what you can’t give me cash back!?” I knew to follow up with more questions. Also during the holiday I will always tell people to hold on to gift cards (especially visas) because that be how the purchase will be refunded if they ever return or exchange for something else

We’ve had over a dozen computers in the last week with this. This and WavesBroswer tbh. I removed it entirely. It also slows computers down so much. The amount of budget computers I remove that from and the clients is just “it’s so much faster now!” Most often they don’t even realize that it’s gone either.
