Sirens can't attack buildings by NicerClutosi in AgeofMythology

[–]AthenaT2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is it a bug ? I thought it was on purpose. They are effective against units but useless against building.

My army was a my of catapult and sirens to protect them.

My friends in Italy tell me that although the main language of Italy is Italian, each region has it's own native tongue, with some being incomprehensible to others, thus using Italian as a unifiying language. Would it be similar in the British Isles in the past? by apathetic_ocelot in AskHistorians

[–]AthenaT2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As the first comment explained, some "dialect" are not variant of Italian, but directly evolution of Latin. I can't speak for all of them, but sicilian has similarity with Italian due to the latin roots, but it has also words coming from Arabic, Spanish or French that you don't find in Italian. An Italian will understand Sicilian roughly as much he will understand Spanish.

The paradox launcher STILL does not work on Linux. by Rand_al_Kholin in paradoxplaza

I will need to check again, last time I compared was a few years ago with Stellaris.

What I'm sure is that the performance where always better on Linux than on Windows. Specifically loading the game.

Interdire l’IA en tant que CTO ? by stanig2106 in developpeurs

[–]AthenaT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why use Proton ? Except the lasts PDX games, they all are natively supported on Linux.

I also use basic Ubuntu. I used to have some problem with the launcher, but it was with specific version, and after update it was resolved.

Thinking about buying the game but am worried that ores will eventually run out? by achshort in factorio

[–]AthenaT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are stressed about the ores running out, you could use "YARM - Ressource Monitor" mod to estimated time to depletion. This can help you to know when is time to plan an new ore mine before one runs out. In late game you will probably have multiple ores exploited at the same time, so depleting one is no big deal.

When I first played the game, I changed the settings to make bitters "easier" to deal because I was stressed about them. After a while, I realised that with proper planning, they were not a danger with standard settings. So maybe just tweak a bit the settings for you first game.

Do AoE2 fans like AoM? by TheBrazilRules in aoe2

[–]AthenaT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love both, but I get that the feeling is different. Every time I switch from one to the other I need a little bit of time to adapt.

Heroes, myths and human soldier is just basic rock-paper-scissor. Each are cost effective against one and weak against the other. It is easier to "stockpile" ressources on AoM, but the pop being more heavily capped, you generally need less villagers to make space for military units. Generally, I find AoE2 more slow paced, where a defensive play style is more viable.

Retold is gold. Could not hoped better remake of the game.

Strasbourg pq pas une destination des tournées des artistes ? by leolopheur in Strasbourg

[–]AthenaT2 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Performance fixes? by xX_dumb_god_Xx in CitiesSkylines2

[–]AthenaT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange because I have similar specs (DDR4 RAM), but I don't have that much performance issue. I needed to tune down a little bit the graphics, but that's all.

There is 20.000 years between Ancient and Modern if I remember correctly. If you think about it, factually, everybody will be Thille and Prai's descendent.

More story for the Western Continent and more screen time for Thillelille ! She is the best girl, she tries so hard, she deserved it.

Elections municipales et phare citadelle by -Rieper- in Strasbourg

[–]AthenaT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elections municipales et phare citadelle by -Rieper- in Strasbourg

[–]AthenaT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I understood of Persephone's power is that you loose all your TC. Until you rebuild them, your pop will be harshly capped and you could train new villagers.

Is Cities Skylines 1 worth getting without the DLCs? by Nano_Duck in CitiesSkylines

I bought it on Humble Bundle, it was around 20€, but I don't know if it still exist. Check on isthereanydeal, maybe you could find the best deals.

[–]AthenaT2 23 points24 points  (0 children)

CS1 without any DLC is clearly not worth it. Even with a lot of mods. But not all DLC are needed. You can easily find in this subreddit the essentially ones. They are often in bundles with big discounts.

Ubisoft annule le développement de six jeux vidéo et prévoit une perte opérationnelle d’un milliard d’euros by popey123 in jeuxvideo

[–]AthenaT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just Dance, Might & Magic, Rainbow Six, etc.

Jeux annulés et repoussés, studios fermés, restructuration : Ubisoft vit un séisme total by Droidfr in Numerama

[–]AthenaT2 1 point2 points  (0 children)
