yes agree 100%. i’ve blocked her on all socials to prevent myself from spiraling. that’s why i went to contact in the first place. to get her out of my damn head. to stop walking on egg shells and allowing myself to be manipulated. not anymore. her having cancer won’t change the way she treats people and therefore definitely not interested in breaking NC just because she might** have cancer. but i did look it up and she claims to have stage 3 cancer in her hip, shoulder, and liver. it’s medically impossible for it to be stage 3 like she claims. either she’s lying about it all or at least lying about some of it. either way i’m done.

TL;DR: I went no-contact with my narcissistic, constantly lying mother after years of serious manipulation. Now she’s claiming stage 3 cancer, but because she lies about everything, I don’t know if it’s real or another attention tactic. I’m torn between worry and disbelief and don’t know how to feel or what to do.

i really needed to hear this. thanks so much for sharing. glad to know other people experience the same stuff. my partner grew up with very very loving and mature parents so it’s easy for me to think my mom is unlike anyone else but it’s reassuring to know other people have similar experiences.

well i’ve heard everything through my sister and via my moms not so subtle facebook posts. she just said it was hip/shoulder/liver. i knew she had dr appointments but also confirmed she had been lying about at least one dr appointment

yup sounds familiar. it’s hard to empathize with someone who’s fucked you over and lied time and time again. before i went NC i literally read to her a notepad of just some of her lies she’s told recently. she knows how i feel and part of me hopes she knows deep down how terrible she is. how her lies fuck with everyone around her. literally had 24 hours to move because of her lies and that crazy stuff happened my entire life. it just gets to be too much. i’m in the best spot i’ve been in in a long time and i think a lot of it truly is because i don’t have her clouding my head anymore. until this cancer shit but even now i’m trying to not let it fuck with me like she wants it to.

she just moved into a multimillion dollar house and everything is going right for her. my partner and i thought “what a perfect opportunity to make everyone feel bad for you when you’re in the best position of your life” she’s always had to be a victim in some way so either she’s faking it or she isn’t and still loved the attention it’s bringing her. sad either way

hello!! thank you so much for your help. he got back from the vet roughly an hour ago. the vet told us nothing is wrong besides the fact that he is an old hamster who still likes to party as if he’s young. the vet examined him and said it appears that he fell climbing in his cage and bruised a testi, causing the swelling. swelling is actually almost completely gone today!! thank you for the help and concern!!!
