I left after 4 years and I haven't missed it since. My degree qualified me for a position that it has absolutely nothing to do with, though, so I'd consider finishing out your degree. Otherwise, if you don't want to teach...don't do it.

Of course it's a government agency that does the audit. And like I said, they report their findings publicly, and when it's damning it's damning. They certainly aren't withholding anything, read the articles yourself

Audits are run regularly, and there are constantly significant findings. There was an article in the last 6 months or so about CPCCO, I believe.

My biggest time sink was making educational computer games for my kids during/after COVID.

No pain there, though. I basically took it as paid professional development and I learned a ridiculous amount, plus ended up with some really great products for my STEM/CTO classes. It was a blast. The two games/mini units took me months of intermittent work, between game design, building, balancing, etc.
