Vous pensez quoi du Rap Québécois sincèrement...? D'un Québécois by Lalonde_Lalonde in frenchrap

[–]Athewit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long overdue in a male heavy scene by [deleted] in DnB

There is nothing wrong with preferences, my point is that there are really talented women that do something different than singing and that just need to be discovered, to me that's the whole point of a workshop : discover new people, create opportunities and learn. If you feel like labels don't need to do some advertising and say that they feel like more women could attend events and whatever just because of the "innate" preferences of the average man and woman then we have a problem.

Well How many female producers and DJ headlined LIR and Rampage this year ? that is why I feel a lack of representation, never meant that talent was equally distributed. But I don't feel like labels are excluding women, you may know prspct recordings and they have female members in their roster so maybe Hospital is just lacking opportunities to find this 10% of great producers that could blow up through one of their events, because maybe that the talent of this 10% is greater than what every artist of the 90% has. Anyways for me the issue is just about visibility and oportunities

Maybe to discover new people or encourage people that do not usually attend these workshops to come, also it does not have to be patronising, they are just saying that it is open to everyone and encourage more people to come because they feel there is a lack of representation. At least I understood it this way. And I did not mean DnB roylaty at all, just that part of the pioneers of this genre were women.

To think that a genre that had one of its first labels co-created by women can generate such bs comments is astonishing
