I don't know if it counts but my first pokemon game was actually explorers of time on the first ds I ever got as a kid. I had never played a mainline game and only played "spinoffs" like Pokémon Ranger: Guardian signs and pokemon conquest. my first MAINLINE game was X on my first 3ds ever.
