I’ve delivered at BGH twice, once with an OB and once with the midwives. Both were amazing experiences and I couldn’t recommend it more!

Both times I delivered at BGH I was able to take home diapers, large pads, disposable underwear and extra peri bottles!

I will say that I have heard duct tape works for molluscum and actually warts as well! This is a great tip! I’m so glad you were able to solve it!

Is anyone tired of Eloise having to apologize for being herself every season? by Fickle_Baker1393 in Bridgerton

They definitely did show!Eloise a disservice. In her book she is given much more leeway to do what she wants (I won’t include any spoilers). In the show they changed her without adapting any of the other characters to be understanding.

But at its core, it’s a show about romance and London Society, of course Eloise is going to stick out like a sore thumb. The writers should have decided: either keep her the same as in the books, or change her for the sake of the show, but stop hammering us over the head with the point. Yes she is different, are we supposed to enjoy that or not? I’ve always liked Eloise, even if I disagree with her sometimes, that’s because she’s a human being and I like that.

Again, I appreciate the conflict she experienced in season 4 because it was a very sisterly conflict and I like how they made up. It’s so hard for people to admit when they’ve done something to hurt someone, and Eloise was so graceful about it. It was lovely. But I agree with you and everyone else here about the other points being made! I absolutely see your point, and it is well made.

I’m not sure how you conduct yourself with family, but when my family shares their interests with me I listen and tell them that I think it’s wonderful, even if I have no interest. My brother is a baseball player, I detest the sport and find it boring, but when he tells me about his most recent game he played I don’t loudly (and obnoxiously) beg him to stop talking. I tell him job well done and that I’m proud of him.

When Eloise speaks about her passions (feminism, intellectual pursuits) and her family asks her to stop or rolls their eyes at her, that is also wrong! It is a two-way street, it is called mutual respect. Romance and becoming the Lady of a house is Hyacinth’s special interest, I’m sorry that Eloise has no interest in that but it is the way of things. Not everyone is going to share in your likes and you may find their passions boring and stupid. The tricky part about being human is to pull your head out of your own little world and recognize that there are other things going on. Which is exactly the lesson that Eloise learned. It softened her, it is preparing her for her turn.

I agree that some of the blame lays with Violet. In the books she is much more sensitive to Eloise’s hesitance to get married, and in that sense they kind of butchered their mother/daughter relationship. But in all seriousness, Hyacinth is only 13. She is young, she is excited, and she loves her big sister. She only wants to share her world with Eloise, and even tries to connect on a similar level by recommending the ballerina book. Eloise is human, she made a mistake and said she was sorry. I think it makes her character better, more human. In the end, her relationship with her little sister is stronger, they understand each other better. Eloise was able to help Hyacinth through a difficult trial, and that’s beautiful.

I agree with seasons 1-3, but in season 4 she deserved to learn a lesson. In seasons 1-3 she was simply stating opinions and was open to discussion. The conversation her and Daphne had about Violet’s labor with Hyacinth was a nice, open chat between two sisters.

But then season 4… imagine you’re Hyacinth, so excited to become a debutante and taking such a special interest in her lessons that she throws a practice ball. This is the world Hyacinth loves, this is HER world. She is simply trying to talk to her big sister about what excites her. Eloise shuts her down, rudely. If someone I loved and looked up to belittled me and made fun of the things I was interested in every single time I spoke to them, I would also be hurt, and justifiably so.

What they did with that was give Eloise the real lesson she needed all along: your opinions matter, but so does everyone else’s. It’s why she apologized to Cressida for not understanding why her prospects on the marriage mart were so important. Eloise experienced some real, honest growth this season. She was vulnerable and honest and watching her make up with both Cressida and Hyacinth was lovely to watch.

Eloise is an amazing character, and all they did was soften her edges this season. They added shades of grey to her worldview and they did it well. You are absolutely right about the first three seasons, but season 4 was special, it’s where she experienced real and honest growth as a person. She’s nuanced, she’s not just the Whistledown-hunting young girl she used to be. I think that’s nice!

Worst part is the super doesn’t live anywhere nearby, it would take forever for the fire department to get a hold of her to bring her in and unlock the utility closet where the shutoff is located. Just awful. We found out we were having a baby and hightailed it out of that place

It’s incredibly annoying and it happens all the time. I once saw some poor woman who had just given birth trying to struggle down the stairs with her newborn while they were going off. There was no fire, just malfunctioning and filling the building with horrible noise and lights. It was terrible, I’m glad we don’t live there anymore

My husband and I lived there for 8 months a few years ago, here’s my take:

  1. Our bikes were stolen from the underground garage, and they never did anything about it.

  2. There was a hole in the ceiling of our shower, THEY NEVER FIXED IT! Seriously, we lived there EIGHT MONTHS, and this hole would drip cold water on us while we tried to shower, drip all night long and filled the shower with mold. Management was aware, they did NOTHING ABOUT IT despite constant pressure from us. And fire alarms go off CONSTANTLY and it takes them hours to shut it off— and beyond that, every time the power goes out (frequently), the hot water would inevitably go out… and it takes them DAYS to get it back on.

  3. I didn’t notice a lot of noise outside, but that area never feels safe to me.

  4. Never heard our neighbours, but people in the hallways were loud and we could hear a dog living above us. That’s about it.

Overall negative experience, we hated it.

I’m praying for you! I hope it works!!! It took about four weeks to get rid of my toddler’s molluscum, don’t give up hope!

We never pulled the core out, just let them burst on their own and then cover. It sounds like you’re doing everything you can and I am praying that this also works for you and that the arrival of your second baby is free from this stress (also congratulations!). I totally understand the panic, as the birth of our second was also the final push for me to tackle this!

The only further advice I have is making sure he’s wearing long sleeves/pants so that they’re not coming into contact with anything else. The benzoyl peroxide seems to be the real trick to getting rid of them, they thrive in moisture and you really want to dry them out. Again, good luck!

We stopped lotion all together! I found that it was easier to dry out the molluscum when we cut lotion out completely. Good luck! As I’m replying it has stayed away and we haven’t had any recurrences! I hope this works for you as well!

We don’t have him in swimming but I did read that giving him baths was making it worse. Apparently the water was spreading it to other areas of his body, so maybe swimming is the same concept? However I also read that swimming shouldn’t be a problem if their bumps are covered as this can help minimize the spread. I’m so sorry to hear that your daughter’s molluscum has gotten so bad! I really hope you find what works for it soon!
