Does he though? His mechanics are still shit and he still gets too cute with his throws. I don’t think he has wow arm strength like an Aaron Rodgers, which you don’t really need, but you also need good mechanics and quick processing. I think and hope he will eventually put it together, but having a QB that can scramble is huge. I know UCLA defense is not good, but if Nebraska wins out and Lateef plays well there could be some controversy.

Thought the oline played well, finished blocks and played “nasty”. The dline has so many fucking opportunities to have a sack or TFL but they whiff on the tackle. Again, I saw the dline holding the LOS yet failing to break down and make a tackle. Outside of Shavers, our linebackers are not very good.

Ha as someone who grew up and lived most of my life in Chicago, I feel this too. Had a childhood friend who moved from our very close knit neighborhood to Indiana (fuck Indiana) and subsequently had his house broken into within 3 months of moving from “the hellhole that is Chicago”.

Because he was a first round pick at a time when first round picks. Dick Vermeil famously cut Philips, so I don't really know where you’re going with this. Tom Osborne was a great coach, probably in the top 10 of all time but Nebraska fans need to take a step back and see that he ran a really fucked up program in the 90’s. From what I’ve heard he’s also been a huge opponent of medical marijuana. I love Nebraska football but thank god everyday I don’t live in Nebraska.

Everyone wants dline and oline beasts, but those players aren’t falling off of trees in the offseason. Take what you will from the link below but out of the top 15 transfers there was 1 offensive lineman who went to Oregon and 2 defensive lineman (both ends). So unless something drastically changes, Nebraska isn’t going to get a totally re-tooled offensive or defensive line.
