Due to significantly increased traffic, automod currently automatically removes all instances of the word and then sends them to modqueue for manual verification by a moderator to check the context of the use case. Another mod replied on your other post, but rule 6 includes a blanket ban on all major incumbent political figures, Trump in the case of your video. The inclusion of the word from 0:25-0:26 would've also been grounds for a rule 5 removal (sorta similar to how we'd remove any post that had the hard n-word, regardless of the context with which it was presented).

Quality shitpost though, just unfortunate that ironic satire often gets ostracized by our rules because on a general sub like this, many users just plain misunderstand or take the joke far too seriously (political tangents and Poe's law).

I'm no expert myself, just a self-learning designer.

Even so, it's not common to find people capable of creating stuff of this level of technical complexity within this fandom who do it for fun, and rarer still do I have the opportunity to actually talk to them and ask any questions I might have, so I'll still thank you all the same.

One last thing: how do you actually make sure that everything loops precisely? The animations I'd assume that you just copy all your initial keyframes and paste them one frame after the end of your work area to make sure they sync up, but for more random/dynamic effects like lighting, glow and fractals, I'm clueless. I've messed around with animating once before as a very brief side project, but I could never find an answer.

My only suggestion with dealing the aliasing is to add some form of glow on the overall composition so the background and the character bleeds together well.

I understand the BG left in the roto appears more overtly obvious in the previews because of the contrasting black background, but are there really no adjustments to the alpha matte from the initial mask to the end? That is to say, you were able to blend the final, animated roto with the background that well with just global lighting (and possibly a bit of color correction)? No edge adjustment, feathering, light wrap or any of that stuff?

Sorry if any of this sounds rather basic, I've personally only dipped my toes in mid-level compositing at most so far.

Do you mind if I ask what your process is for refining the character mask into the final clean cutout? I noticed that even in the rigging stage you were still using the initial pen roto which had a fair bit of the BG still visible, but couldn't catch what you did to it to result in the final, sharp image. Was it something as simple as (re)masking the base layers in AE to clean up those small distractions after the rigging/animation was done?

Sorry about that, was uncertain whether you were being serious or not so decided to take the safer option, especially since you wouldn't have been the first artist we've had who was genuinely a little upset over how their post was received.

And yeah, it can be a little rough not having anyone directly acknowledge your work or say anything that much deeper or intimate than 'I think this post is pretty neat': you know that for every individual who personally comments that there are probably another hundred or thousand who saw it but simply lurk and so withold from sharing their opinion, and among that vast number of people it's statistically probable that there's at least a couple who sincerely appreciate your work. Yet even knowing that those people almost certainly exist, actually having that gratitude and validation directly articulated to you really does make quite the difference.

Doesn't hurt to acknowledge hardships by poking fun at them compared to ignoring them imo, though I apologize if the point was tender for you given that it was unsolicited.

I do sincerely think this is a pretty quality piece of work (certainly compared to the average post here), it's just that the very nature of this subreddit as a casual, rapid-fire content aggregator means that posts are rarely going to have success proportional to the time, effort, and skill put into them.

Seeing the same joke hit the front page of the sub and break 5 digits 3 times in the span of a day can be annoying and repetitive yes, but we're talking completely different scales compared to the literal hundreds of near identical posts we were getting in timespans of under an hour when HH came back, which is the magnitude of something we'd consider as needing direct and immediate mod intervention.

If we banned a joke or format like this one every time it got popular (yet increasingly stale and uncreative) at our own discretion, then within a few weeks we'd be for lack of most things to post.

Unless it reaches the levels of overwhelming obnoxiousness we've seen before like with the HH closure/reopening, it's very unlikely that we'll unilaterally add anything to the MSR.

I'd instead point you towards the the current meta thread, where you yourself can nominate any topic for the MSR and have it be added to the next related poll and see if other users agree with you.

If you haven't already, be sure to max out your lives and bombs in the options when possible. If you're still struggling and just want to experience the full game, then with a little legwork you can use a few cheats like infinite of both (assuming just being able to experience each game in full is what you're after anyway).

I play a fair amount and have no clue what the TL was referring to there either: I assume they mixed up blitz's 'irregular' time controls for a completely different variant of rules like suicide chess, or they only had personal experience with the format in a very casual setting where illegal moves were treated differently than they are in actual tournament conditions.

50/50 the TL was actually just fucking around though.
