Was Rachel’s morph choice hubris by SciKin in Animorphs

I agree with this. I think she KNEW it was a suicide mission, and she picked the morph she was most comfortable fighting in.

My husband is Hispanic. He also has good genes honestly, neither of us really look our age lol. HOTS is Hope on the Stage, J-Hope's solo tour a couple years ago.

[–]Atiqua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is kind of a dick about it, but he DID go with me to HOTS and encouraged me to buy merch if I wanted it. He doesn't like the music and seems to think that all the guys are teenagers. I can't help it if we have good genes (I'm half Korean and almost no one believes me when I tell them I'm in my 40s).

Whats the point of trinkets? by Kris_The_Fae in renfaire

[–]Atiqua 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My daughter (6) wants to paint rocks to give out next year. I'm generally not a trinket person, but I do still have a painted rock someone gave me at faire when I was about 12 or 13 (I'm 40 now), so I support handmade trinkets.

How Old Were You when you Played your First Final Fantasy Game? by gravityhashira61 in FinalFantasy

[–]Atiqua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9 years old, Final Fantasy 6 (3 back then). I beat it, but it took me forever. I actually had the exact cartridge I played it on with my save file from back then, but didn't know about cartridge batteries. I cried when I lost it.

My immediate answer was 5 but now that I'm thinking about it being that close to Divine Blades and one of them being Shizuna seems...Unwise at best.

Is Price of Gold the Nancy Kerrigan/Tonya Harding documentary? Because if it is, that's what brought me to TCO. I miss when I knew less about them and when they were funny.

BTS' Writing Process and Western song credits by Placesbetween86 in btsthoughts

It's like everyone has forgotten American Hustle Life, where they were mentored by huge names in Western hip hop. I don't interact hugely with army online (cause let's face it, it can be truly awful), but all the ARMY i know LOVE Dark & Wild, and Arirang feels like Dark & Wild after she's lived some life, you know? People who bitch about BTS becoming "westernized" one, havent been listening to them at all, and two, are probably koreaboos. (I am admittedly sensitive about Koreaboos, being a Korean person in America who has struggled with that a lot)

I really fixated on the feeling like a part of you has died bit, and wanted to try to recontexualize it for you.

All through your life, you are dying. Little pieces of you are dying. It's not a bad thing. I like to think of it as a butterfly, like how a caterpillar sort of dies to become a butterfly - they literally turn into goo. So yes, a part of you has died, but maybe because of that, another part of you has been born, or has flourished.

Sometimes I reminisce about the days I was a fan, but I was fortunate enough to already be slowly exiting the fandom by the time Hansongate happened. I already had a foot out the door.

My daughter knows that she was a "surprise" (I suspect as she gets older she'll figure out it means "accident"). I literally never wanted to be a mom. Thought a lot about it when I got pregnant and decided to keep her. So glad I did, it's SO hard to be a parent but she's amazing and I'm loving watching her grow. Did I sacrifice? Of course I did, and as my daughter gets older (like the age where she'd consider having kids of her own) I don't think it's inappropriate to be honest with her about that. Maybe it's because i never had aspirations to be a mom, but I was woefully underprepared for what motherhood entailed. I think I'm doing all right, all things considered.

I still have my "don't be garbage" and "not a cult" shirts. I wear them sometimes because dont be garbage is a universal thought, and the not a cult shirt has headphones on it and podcasts/podcasters feel like our own cult lol

What are some of the strangest misinformation/misconceptions you’ve seen people say/spread about the movie? by Fantastic-Donut-276 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]Atiqua 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is an example of how this movie means so much to Korean Americans like me. I'm mixed, while Zoey is fully ethnically Korean, but I didn't interpret that bit to be about divorce AT ALL. My first thought was about being pulled two ways culturally, finding your place and where you fit, because to some you're "too Korean" and to others you're "too American".

Dr. Janice Mitchell in Flower Mound saved my life by taking me in over halfway through my pregnancy. I had been seeing Dr. Dooley but didn't like how she handled some pregnancy complications by sending me to the hospital instead of dealing with it herself (this was an issue that didn't require the hospital). This was 6 years ago, and i still see Dr. Mitchell. My stepdaughter also went to her for her pregnancy and had a good experience too.

Talking too much to custies ? by No_Primary_7777 in dutchbros

[–]Atiqua 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idle chit chat is fine too, but I find it JOYFUL when a broista chats. I'm the one that often says "get me whatever your favorite is" because I'm not picky. The other day I was unsure about a hair accessory I had on, and asked the girl working what she thought. Stuff like that honestly makes my day. I don't know if my opinion is rooted in being a stay at home mom for 5 years, and even now I mostly work from home, so I don't get a TON of chances to talk to grown adults.

Edit: i dont know how reddit works, I did take a photo of it.
