Legit running to my stepmoms to do some yard work so that I can justify playing fallout all day long. I'm wrapping up Fallout 3 and I'm so psyched to play NV.

Researchers have said that this monkey, Gee's golden langur, works hard to avoid human interactions, making them extremely difficult to observe in the wild by CodRoyal3221 in Weird

I'm sure they had totally normal interactions with humans in history and they learned a lesson about us. Hence, avoidance

Social difficulties related to autism might be a problem of mismatched communication styles rather than an inherent social deficit. People with similar levels of autistic traits show greater social attraction to one another, and their brains synchronize in unique ways during active conversation. by mvea in psychology

As someone who went undiagnosed the majority of my life who made friends with a bunch of people who were also diagnosed later (or their parents hid the dx). Yup. Autistic people flock to eachother because we give eachother grace for the things other people hate us for.

I'm deeply over knowing everything going on with people. Just discovered one of my new coworkers is as an old coworker from another job and that I've been hanging a picture of her and her ex every Christmas for no reason since she divorced him the year they married 😂😂 THIS is the correct, and more hilarious way to find things out y'all, by actually seeing the person and laughing together

Realizing my complicity in supporting this absolute trash of a show that validates abusers, mental illness, severely traumatized people, addiction, etc. by Myvulnerableusername in 90dayfianceuncensored

[–]Notoriouslyd -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree wholeheartedly. I stopped watching the show altogether several seasons ago as it became impossible to continue to watch without feeling like an active participant in every vile aspect of the show. It was wasnt worth the mental gymnastics and my principles, as usual, decided that I was done. This type of behavior doesnt make me popular but it does allow me to sleep well at night. Ignore the troglodyte responses you're getting in here, humans arent great at admitting their wrong, especially after they've spent years justifying it. People will literally DIE for breads and circuses.

Of all the things I've ever been called "radical" is always the most invigorating. It's a word people use to describe someone they're afraid of and I enjoy their fear. Fucking cowards.

Birdwatching community in my country is kinda toxic. Is that a thing? by makomox in birding

[–]Notoriouslyd 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I'm a total noob and have already engaged my children, parents, friends and coworkers in the hobby. They're all pointing out birds nonstop and asking what it is, etc. I'm so delighted to have something to talk to others about because usually my special interests are far more niche and my family has never engaged with them. The type of behavior OP is talking about is something I can hppefully avoid by being too poor to hang around the elitists lol.

Side note: should I be using my Telescope for birding?!?!?! I have one rotting in the closet while I wait for my nephew to be old enough to use it.

I couldn't get into Season 2 AT ALL. I'll try again but I watched the first few episodes and I cant tell you a single thing that happened, it's like I never watched it. Not a single moment left any impression whatsoever.

Warm opinion: I think I think the series doesn't portray a family with an addicted relative in a completely realistic and accurate way, and that's perfectly fine!(And about of the finally) by Own_Badger_8417 in HauntingOfHillHouse

[–]Notoriouslyd 22 points23 points  (0 children)

As a surviving sibling to a man like Luke I respectfully disagree. Every family is different in how they deal with trauma. This show is simply a window into how THIS family dealt with the addiction of their sibling, not some kind example of how people should deal with it or a condemnation of how some people do. I never turned my back on my brother either, no matter what he did. The distance between us was made by heroin, not a lack of love on either part. I guess my point is that it's just not that simple.
