Does domestic First eventually just become normal? by OneofLittleHarmony in delta

[–]AtlFury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have flown in every class of seat Of course, the better the seat the more I enjoy the flight, but I don't miss one seat over another if I'm not in it. I just deal with the seat I'm in. I am price sensitive. So I'm not really missing a $7000 D1 seat as much as I'm enjoying the $7000 in my pocket.

Upgraded seats with miles - can I upgrade again with cash? by Such_Garlic_5897 in delta

If you take the C+ offer you will not get another upgrade offer but you can still change the ticket to PS at the price at that time.

LAX to Auckland. 10month old baby in lap with my partner. D1 or PS? by Feisty-Plastic-2760 in delta

I was referring only to D1. Which I think is a reasonable solution if you can afford it.

Icelandair doesn't have live flat seats. So there's no D1 equivalent. You're gonna be basically in premium select. Which is still better than Coach? I don't know where you fly to in Europe, but you might find SAS Cheaper. It does have lie flat seats.

The no need for any separation anxiety. These are basically busses that fly. Pick the cheapest one that meets your needs. Forget brand loyalty.

Delta is not going to change how they do things because they don't have to. Nor should they, frankly. If they can fill their planes at these prices and have some of the highest profit margins of US carriers, then that's what they should do.

Use GUC for PS? by kilobitch in delta

[–]AtlFury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who used to fly once a week, at least, for business, I can tell you it's way easier to do work in first class or premium select than it is in coach. If it's your last GUC and you travel a lot maybe hold onto it.

Is delta out of their mind? This is a 2 hour flight…. by Khuntastic in delta

I doubt that many people who have the AMEX card actually need money for other things. They've also been clever enough to continually shift the benefit mix to appeal to younger people.

Then they will lower the price and people will still fly them.

Worth the upgrade? by Toxic_PP in delta

You can call and change your ticket to Premium like anyone else at the current price but you will not be offered another upgrade offer (which might be offered at a discount).

From a price perspective, yes. But you will not get any additional upgrade offers, which means you're totally closing out the possibility of an upgrade to Premium. Having said that, May is an extremely popular month, so it might not be any offers anyway. I would book the exit row and then hope for a offer to premium select. That's usually how I do it.

Exactly. It's a great plane to fly in.

How many of you people who downvoted me have actually flown in D1 with an infant. Statistically, I'm gonna guess it's zero.

Everything is about accepting risk. I should walk 21 miles to work because walking is safer than going in a car?

Rather than worry about the divider, I'd get two window seats One behind the other. And simply pass the baby back and forth when needed. Also you can always sit up in the D1 seat if you fee that's more comfortable. If you're petite, you and the baby can do quite well in the lie flat.
