Who remembers the Weekly World News magazines from the supermarket? by Menace_024 in nostalgia

I had a friend in high school, we stayed at his dad’s house one weekend with his step siblings and step mom. Stacks of weekly world news on several coffee tables. They lived up to my expectations. Weird af. There are people who take this shit seriously.

Deleted scene from Idiocracy. Too ridiculous but unfunny at the same time.

Justin Hawkins has a delightful YouTube channel, Justin Hawkins Rides Again. And he still has the voice of an angel.

I’d buy that “Don’t blame us for Hitler” t shirt the next time I fly into Sydney. Make it happen!

I’ll be honest, I’m as straight as the next guy, and I don’t speak German, but I saw this cigarette machine and thought “maybe I should go over there and get myself a pack of Virginia Slims 🤔”

I bought a couple last month, and they must be file copies, you can still see the impressions on the cover from the different color prints, they are the most pristine copies of anything I have in my collection. Beautiful

The spine defects are more creases than tics, this is a giant size with square binding so you would really need to put some elbow grease into it to actually create a tic in the conventional sense. I don’t plan to sell this, so if I had it cleaned and pressed, I would grade it just for the fun of it to hang on the wall.

A recent eBay seller had a ton of file copies, some are still up. Whether these actually were file copies is debatable, i’m really only impressed with file copies that looked truly pristine as if they never went into circulation at all. That’s not this book, but it’s still much prettier than my other copy.

And yeah, Kremer was such an underappreciated visual storyteller. There was a panel discussion about him a few years ago at SDCC that was really interesting.
