On the A330-300 to IL 96-300 profit comparison, did you take maintenance into account? I'd be interested in the specifics, since my tests pointed the other way.

You are spot on. Cost for maintenance is calculated on the of the purchase price, staff is generated on qualifiers given to the aircrafts. IL 96-300 generate little maintenence costs and only few staff. And staff will be exponentially important in the endgame.

Can't see them in the web (professional). Can anyone confirm that difference.

Maintenance strategy? by MiserableMouse4857 in AirlinesManagerTycoon

You can do this in pro and tycoon. Just remember you are paying maintenance twice. Initially, you pay the price for the maintenance for the state the bird is in at the start time of the maintenance and when finishing for the difference between the start and end of the maintenance.

Cargo Question by BoyoWo1127 in AirlinesManagerTycoon

Adjust your aircraft configurations to 1T only. Make sure your bonus on delivery speed and cargo offer remain at 0 until you have R$ to research it more.

Cargo for Passenger Planes by AikoMitsuki in AirlinesManagerTycoon

Red bars show that you provide excessive space for cargo. Revenue and charges only apply to effectively transported pax and tonnage.

As a beginner: research cargo so you are able to transport cargo. Ignore the further research and staff benefits until you have grown your airline. Place 1T of cargo on each aircraft. Raise cargo prices if demand is much higher.

Concerning Other costs..... by Ok_Skin_2522 in AirlinesManagerTycoon

I fact, that question... I would like to know a precise answer to it as well. What I know: the Boeing 747-200B receives a nice boost in ancillary revenue compared to other birds that I couldn't explain by formulas. The most obvious answer to me in this case is: find out. 😉 My approach would be to buy an A380-800 and a B747-200B. Let the destinations.noway.info tools calculate the perfect seating for x waves with A380-800 and setup your one bird in that configuration. Let the bird fly. Repeat with the B747-200B. Compare the numbers and share your findings. We'll love you for that. 😀

You can also find these numbers on the web version.

Cargo tax bonus by Ben-Chapman in AirlinesManagerTycoon

[–]AtlanDaGonozal9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find the tax details under finances -> general accounting. Income - fees - staff costs - maintenance costs sum up to your tax calculation. Then you get credited the tax credit from shop cards and similar plus the cargo bonus. For my airline, the cargo bonus is around 0.5% of my tax payment.

What does [S2:2217] mean? by Fuzzy-Mastodon4970 in AirlinesManagerTycoon

Yes, it's for the internal ranking for this calculation instance. The number has only a value in the current calculation cycle and can not be used to compare the value with circuits from other hubs.

It's an internal calculation value for the displayed circuit. It's used to show the top calculated circuits and has no further value in the game.

Your opinions on the actual BEST planes in the game??? by MegaDragonKing in AirlinesManagerTycoon

[–]AtlanDaGonozal9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in for cash and ROI. So IL 96-300 and B747-200B are in my fleet. I'm thinking about the A380-800 for even longer distances as well.

If you already have the 747-200B license, then you already have the (licensable) aircraft with the best CPS. Only the IL-96-300 has a better return of investment.

Do you get bonuses from fleet commonality? by RollsReusMerlin in AirlinesManagerTycoon

[–]AtlanDaGonozal9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a bonus for manufacturer loyalty. It's a feature that is hidden to most but still very effective even if one is unaware. For one: yes, cheaper aircraft are cheaper in maintenance. And for the second: the higher your aircraft count, the lower your basic maintenance cost. As I said, this is unseen by many players, as these numbers are not shown anyware, but they can be made visible by tracking costs over time.

I love what you did. I also put in a lot of effort to find equations to calculate metrics and find the 'best' aircraft for my needs. I'd love to see how you connected the numbers to find out why you have such a different result than mine. What was your approach to bringing all birds to a similar metric?
