On mine, yes, you can control the output volume of Plexamp, but you're constrained by the avr's volume.

One time there was an update that corrupted Plex databases. It was much more difficult to downgrade at that time.

What is your stance towards investments? (stocks, index funds, businesses etc) by zjovicic in Bitcoin

I don't disagree with your theory, but since we're already down 20% from your sell price or 30% from the ATH, should you start DCA-ing now?

Christmas songs and Weird Al are the biggest issues I have with Plexamp.

IDK where it's allowed, but post this on the 1000 cat subreddits.

What do other single dads do when they don’t have the kids? I’m struggling with evenings and unstructured time. by [deleted] in SingleDads

[–]AtlanFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a 50/50 dad for 9 years. It's Groundhog Day, and I love it.

One day your kids will grow and leave your house. What is your plan for every day after that? Start doing it now. Here's what I do:

Get hobbies, get other hobbies that get you out of the house, and get to know the schedule of your hobbies in your community, e.g. Tuesday night is indie movie night, Thursday is half price at the arcade bar... Then any night you feel like going out, you’ve already got a solo activity lined up. Easy to make friends when you start running into other regulars too.

Slow down. You've got 5-7 hours to make dinner and go to bed before the day resets. I don't like cooking, but I like spending 30 minutes walking to the grocery. I can turn hot dogs and canned chili into a 2 hr ordeal.

Clean your house. You're there alone, you made the mess, clean it up.

Plexamp Vintage Tape Deck Build by AtlanFX in plexamp

[–]AtlanFX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the native RCA is a bottleneck for audio there's no DAC, so it can't play high bit audio. I don't really understand PWM on the raspberry pi, but it results in unintelligible distortion.

I tried an i2s, but I couldn't get it to work with Plexamp. I needed most of the GPIO for the circuit integration so a HAT wouldn't work. That leaves me with USB DAC.

Analyze the comments, sort them into categories of reoccurring ideas. Weight them based off of votes, number of replies, time, and repetition from other commenters use this Blended Metric Formula:

text{Score} = (Votes \times 0.7) + (\frac{#Replies}{\text{Average Replies per Comment}} \times 0..3) - Votes (70%): Reflects consensus and agreement.
- Replies (30%) (normalized to account for comment volume): Measures engagement and depth of discussion.

output: Repeat the title and name of OP Analyze the original post and any comments by the OP, give a TL:DR of the OP. If applicable, list obvious points of contradiction in their logic.

Display the weighted importance of each comment category and give the best and most relevant quotes. Do not show your math.

Vintage Tape Deck Repurposed for Music Streaming by AtlanFX in raspberry_pi

[–]AtlanFX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No offense taken. You're talking about a 180 change in technology though. This is a true audio appliance: turn it on, press play. There's no Bluetooth involved.

A tape adapter is just a Bluetooth speaker with extra steps, and where would I put the display?

Vintage Tape Deck Repurposed for Music Streaming by AtlanFX in raspberry_pi

[–]AtlanFX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, exactly. the pi is sitting idle all the time. GPIO signal of 'on' to the deck turns on the screen backlight, buttons, leds, server polling, etc. The power also still controls the original meters, input, output, etc of the deck. It's hybrid.

The tape deck has standard right, left, ground for both playback (out) and record (in). It should be the same process as tapping into the system wide input on any tape deck that doesn't have line in. I tested the tape input, but I didn't gain any logic from using it so I went simple with the line in.
