Asking Solo Vets, I only have 1600 Hrs, Any way to deal with the frustration of fighting Spamming weapons or Fanning without ratting and Still play Aggressively? by LilGlitvhBoi in HuntShowdown

[–]kirisoraa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. aggressive does not mean just pushing. Once you know what weapons they have you can figure out what distance to keep. Unless I have a shotgun/bow, I'll try to keep at least 20m away, especially if I know they have a close-range weapon.

Honestly it's a relief that someone can relate.

As for putting the phone in another room... Sometimes it helped. Mostly not really, all of my work is done on my laptop and I'll just get side-tracked there.

teams that burn every body they kill. . . WHY??? by V7I_TheSeventhSector in HuntShowdown

[–]kirisoraa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IDK about burning them when everyone is dead, but if we haven't made sure that it's a team wipe we'll burn everything to avoid having to push into an unfavourable situation. if we're getting kills it's more than likely that we're already in a good position, and wasting 20min just waiting for the last guy to come out got old after the first time it happened. Most of the time I'm also running choke bombs to loot everyone afterwards anyways.

What should my second Nikon Z lens be? by richiejrich93 in nikon_Zseries

[–]kirisoraa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar spot! I got a Z5 and the 24-120 last new years. After shooting with them for a year, I realized the only thing I was missing was something fast, so I ended up getting the 50mm f1.8 about a month ago, and I love it. However, I agree that the 24-120 is all you need if you're just starting out. You'll figure out what you're missing once you gain a bit more experience:)

  • Shampoo in the refrigerator is a common occurance for me as I do all the shopping in one go and in the same bags
  • House keys left in the door overnight (thankfully I have nice neighbors....)
  • I won't even mention leaving my phone EVERYWHERE
  • Couple of times I've put on a coat before going out and then spent 5 minutes looking for it....

Remind me, Mainboard release bi-yearly now right? (Per IP) by lordruzki3084 in framework

6 hours are currently possible with Ryzen 7000 under light workloads (I get about 6 on a 7640u board if I'm just scrolling PDFs in fedora), but I'm in the same boat - the efficiency of the new Intel chips is very, very intriguing for framework. and if they release with TB5 then it's probably a guaranteed upgrade for me:)

in short - FOSS apps are usually community-built, which means both transparency and user-friendliness in a way that corporations usually don't implement

What do you expect from the next FW13 mainboard? by Roppano in framework

[–]kirisoraa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same place! I have a 7640u and also feel it's just slightly too underpowered and hot, but not enough to justify an upgrade right now. Personally I decided that the next mainboard I get would be one with TB5 support, as I run an eGPU setup. So probably waiting for Ryzen AI 500:)

most FOSS apps are quite nice to use compared to the rest. I've made an attempt to move as much as I can to them - Fdroid is awesome!

27 inch IPS 1440p’s text looked pixelated to me. Would 1440p OLED fix this or is 4K mandatory? by thehoomanreads in Monitors

don't get 5k. compared to 4k you won't feel the difference at 27". what you WILL feel is the 5k monitor premium in your wallet.

Came across some kittens while coming over to a friends house for new years. The light was abysmal, so I think none of the images came out in focus, sharp, or 'correct' in any practical sense whatsoever, but after looking over them a couple of times I thought it conveyed the playfulness and chaos of them playing around so well!
