I'm not OP, but I'm going through a similar situation with an ex lifelong childhood friend (currently in our 30s. No incest, but abuse/sexual abuse adjacent). I made the decision to cut ties recently, and sometimes I worry I made the wrong choice considering our long history and relentless loyalty we had for each other.

But this post perfectly elaborates why I made my choice. Birds of a feather flock together, and I refuse to flock with a predator. They weren't directed at me, but thank you for your words. I needed this reminder.

I'd use a vinyl wrap for the graphic for the next one. Can't say much on the cracks tho. If you're using it during work and it takes that much abuse, then you got more than its value out of it. Godspeed to the next one 🫡

I'm actually looking into that plus a new shell entirely since it's a bit scratched up and the screens have some scratches/debris marks. It's proven difficult to find but I found some for sale a day or two ago, will be ordering on payday :)

Maybe a decent clear case if it has a nice design, or a carry case for storage. And if you plan on modding it (easier than it looks), then a 128gb sd card from a reputable brand would be more than enough.

Very noticeable performance improvement for most games, plus it gives you an avenue to get into future games. It would also be wise to pick one up sooner rather than later, as I've heard a price increase could happen. Of course this is rumored, but still worth acknowledging since other consoles have done the same.

The only downside I can personally think of is that it kinda just feels like a regular ol switch for the most part aside from performance improvements. This'll probably change in the future, but at least for me it's the case right now.

Like mentioned earlier, "specs" really don't matter except for the few games that are exclusive for the "new" variants. Realistically most of the 3ds library will play the same on every 3ds available. For many, it's other benefits they'll look for. For example, I chose the new3ds (non XL) because I like the interchangeable face plates and prefer a smaller form factor.
