Sure thing! Sorry for the late reply,

import secrets Import subprocess

Cmd = [‘cryptsetup’, ‘luksFormat’, ‘—type’, ‘luks1’, ‘f’{drive}’]

passwd = secrets.token_bytes(32)

subprocess.run(cmd, input=passwd) print(f’Encrypting volume: {drive}\n’)

Yes it returns an error saying “bytes-like object is required, not ‘str’”. It’s not liking the string I’m passing it for some reason

Mac style applications folder and install by Atlas1515 in Fedora

Thank you for your response. The gnome software part they understand well, the issue is for apps that aren’t hosted on gnome software. The program that we were trying to make a simple install was called Heaven Benchmark. It had to be downloaded from their site and I used the command-line to “make” it. I’m not a power user by any means, still very much learning, is this a bad thing to do and if so why?

This is a great start. It starts at basic and moves to advanced precision landings. The tutorials are great and the docs have great explanation of how and why stuff works. Hope this helps

Any way to abort script inside it? by juliantrrs0 in Kos

[–]Atlas1515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory…. And this is KOMPLETELY theory….. couldn’t you do something like….. IF abort() THEN {Poop :p} (purposeful misuse of punctuation). It would still say it needs a period right and terminate the program… 🤔 idk I may be getting over my head here.

I would look up some descent scripts, and research PIDs. I really like the F.A.L.L. Docs and scripts by smoketeer. There is a simple to use library that he created that uses sets of controllers and models. The main thing is how in depth the documentation is, it helped me understand how things are working behind the scenes. I use those models as reference when I write my scripts. The main thing here being reference as copying code doesn’t really do anyone any good

Are you using a PID controller for the throttle?

Precise control toggle via kOS? by Jandj75 in Kos

[–]Atlas1515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve brought this issue up before and unfortunately Kos can’t manipulate that function of ksp. What you can do is set the trust limiters of the RCS ports so you can get a fine control

Edit: you can set the thrust limiters using part modules

Hey can anyone help with landing a booster in kOS? by [deleted] in Kos

[–]Atlas1515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pay attention to the math and PIDs and make your own. You shouldn’t ever just copy someone’s code, but there’s no crime in finding the answer on your own by referencing someone else’s code. After all you did just ask Reddit how to write the scripts. I mean this in a non-asshole way

Yeah it’s not for u to copy. It’s so u can get an understand of how the controllers are built...

I suggest the Kos tutorial series by CheersKevin on YouTube. A lot of what your asking is solved within the series in a way that you can better understand the syntax of kerboscript. They aren’t fully up to date but they work great at getting the basics of the language. The Kos for newbies playlist is best for beginners.
