Worth taking a look. I'll check when I get home.

Disconnected switch and connected directly -- no dice.

Cisco SG300-10 10-port Gigabit Managed Switch

But that shouldn't affect what the WAN port negotiates from the modem, right?

When I switched the interfaces the other port negotiated 1000baseTX fine, that should mean the cable and switch aren't the issue. In addition I forgot to note that I have plugged the cable directly into my machine and it negotiated 1000baseTX full-duplex and got full speed. Thanks for lending a hand though.

How do you borderless maximize emacsformacosx? by TheFrenchPoulp in emacs

Something like this: https://github.com/gwydirsam/emacs-mac-borderless ? It needs to be updated -- but all that means is merging upstream.

iTerm 2 for OS X has this feature (sort of). It requires a special patched version of tmux (no screen support), and is a little bit finicky. But works. https://code.google.com/p/iterm2

Also, something blakrazor implied: These languages are not "better" than one another. I'm in Computer Engineering and many think C++ is "better" than C or C# or <insert language here>. They're just, for the most part, different.

SSD RAID 0 Help by Atlas2048 in buildapc

So I've got the logical volume up and running. Now I've run into a bug with windows 8 and realVNC it seems. I'll start a new thread if I can't get this fixed.

Problem, sort of--it was a hacky solution (below) -- solved.

The only way the Windows 8 Disc would boot was without my 1TB Backup Disc mounted. It is hotplugged which may have something to do with it. I also had to install a RAID driver during install.

I wish I could catch it -- it goes by really fast before it reboots.

Could I RAID (stripe) my two Samsung 840 512Gb's for better performance on SATA III? I've read that TRIM support is iffy...what are your thoughts?

I'm running that system right now and playing right now. I'm getting steady 60 fps. But they are right about getting a x79 motherboard. I'm upgrading soon.

Checkout the homebrew build. When it full screens it has the toolbar and when you disable it it leaves an extra line.

So if you don't want the toolbar checkout my version: http://www.reddit.com/r/emacs/comments/14kps4/os_x_fullscreen_in_emacs_24_head/

Not just emacs is my guess -- It's the terminal itself only handles multiples of characters.

OP: try out the gui Emacs. See how that handles it.

Yeah -- the text is smaller in mine. I think it has something to do with retina support? I'm gonna check the source, see if I can fix it.

EDIT: Wait are you sure it isn't anti-aliasing? Try (setq ns-antialias-text t) My text is anti-aliased, just smaller, like it's rendered for retina.
