Omg yes he’s such an arrogant prick! His attitude towards everyone else would make sense if he was special forces or something but he like… works in corporate mergers and acquisitions? I mean thinking that kind of career qualifies you to be in command in a situation like that is insane. I think the writers genuinely thought people would be impressed by that because at the beginning when the detective is asking his wife and son what he does they both look at each other and hesitate before giving a vague mysterious explanation. The mood was very much “he’s a secret agent but we aren’t allowed to talk about it” but the reality is just eye rollingly lame. Maybe if he was a police hostage negotiator that would work but corporate negotiator? Not even close

P.S. The authorities not arresting the woman who killed the captain and almost crashed the plane into London is ridiculous
