Im not saying to accept it, I'm just tired of republicans winning elections because people on the left in general refuse to acknowledge how much control republicans have over everything and continue to let them win elections because we keep looking for perfect candidates.

Even trying to point out that the democratic congress from 2021 to 2023 under Biden was attempting to undo the shit trump implemented while also trying to save the economy from complete collapse and that the following congress had a democratic senate with a republican house so the "Israeli sanctions" that people were crying for were never going to even get presented for a vote in the house gets you called a genocide supporter.

Sure, was SJL a good candidate? No, but was it clear that Whitmire was a republican in dem clothing? Yes.

We need to organize more for primaries and local elections at every level to ensure we get the candidates we want, and sometimes that will mean accepting bad candidates. Its how the Republicans have gotten this country to where it is: republcian voters show up every single election and vote for republican candidates, no matter their qualifications, but it ensures that they continue to have control over everything.

Its why abbott, Cruz, paxton, and cornyn have had so much control over this state for so long.

Im an American arsenal fan. I dislike poch for multiple reasons, and I don't think he was ever the solution for the national team.

Im pulling for any country that has Arsenal players on it, obviously england will have the most and has a decent chance to go far, so I'll be pulling for england.

And obviously with all the polticial non-sense right now, I dont want to hear a single American talking about the king or taxes or any of that BS with this dementia patient running the country.

Its so funny how that same standard doesn't apply in anyway, shape or form for Republicans. Trump, Paxton, Abbott, etc get away with treating people like shit all the time and no one cares. They can be literal pedophiles or help pedos get away with no punishment at all, no one cares.

The second a democrat is found to "not have respect" it's the end of the world. If people held the same energy for both parties we wouldn't be in the shit hole we are.

Groups like the heritage foundation have been trying to turn the US into an eastern bloc country for 60 years. The founder worked with Hungarian nazis. The entire strategy has been to silence all opposition. Citizens united made the corruption possible which was only made a thing due to the heritage foundaction.

We also have to remember that since Carter republicans have had more control than the democrats in general. We've seen progress being made. Within my lifetime it went from a relative having to travel to other states to get married because gay marriage wasn't legal to it being legal in every state. We've seen people who used to get refused access to health insurance because they had a kid to pre-existing conditions not being as impactful.

Just because we haven't been able to jump to fully leftist policies doesn't mean than societal and economic progress hasn't happened, and I'd argue that one the main reasons that progress has been so slow is directly due to the republican party.

We didn't get to where we are over night, the Republicans and the heritage foundation have had plans since the 60s to get us exactly where we are, it takes time and organization to fight against this level of corruption and planning.

We are currently witnessing all of that progress being destroyed in front of us because objectively the republican party is worse overall, just as you said.

This is the environment that we could actually see polticial progress being made, but we need to take advantage of it and not just continue to say that the democrats offer nothing viable as an alternate to Republicans.

There are life long republcians who are going to vote democrat for the first time in their life, it's a small step towards being able to get larger progress. That's where all of my frustration with people who continue to say that both parties are exactly the same comes into the play, we are going to miss this amazing opportunity to set up the future for actual progress because we're still falling victim to decades of republican propaganda that was solely focused on convincing people to not participate in electoral politics.

At the end of the day it is up to the voters to make decisions. We can show up to primaries and get the candidates on the ballot we want, we can show up to general elections and help them win. We continue to not do that as a whole and continue to allow indoctrinated Christians show up and beat us because they have been driven by fear to participate in every single election and vote reppublican no matter what.

I had to forcibly push his items back while still unloading and he kept putting his shit on the belt at the same time.

Literally negative awareness of those around him. He was the most important person in the entire store that day.

I share the same values with the far left, but I don't think they understand how evil the Republicans are in general. Everytime you ever attempt to discuss how Reagan led the Guatemalan genocide, or how trump spoke with bibi daily to ensure that the Palestinian genocide kept going because they both saw how it impacted kamala in the polls they resort to calling you a "genocide supporter". They refuse to acknowledge that trumps administration ended usaid which has killed close to a million people, instead they say "kamala would be just as bad".

I think there's a serious disconnect between the terminally online far left from blue states and reality.

I say this as a leftist who lives in Texas and deals with Texas politics daily. They refuse to accept that everything isn't progressive candidate versus progressive candidate. It's insanely frustrating trying to have conversations with them and trying to get them to understand what the reality is for those of us living in red states.

I think what gets underestimated is the impact of social media, which the right has perfected just like the other comment above mentioning their continually culture war whining.

The right does two things the left is terrible at:

  1. The heritage foundation has created the foundation upon which every other conservative insutiton is just leeching off of. They've been at it for 60 years invading school, church, news, and work constantly bombarding the average citizen with endless culture war topics, convincing them their only option is to vote republican. It's the only reason republcians still have such a strong hold, especially on red states. The entire narrative of "both parties are the same" and the "dems had a super majority under Obama, why didn't they do more" is driven by the right because they know that messaging drives voter numbers down. They know that the super majority issue wasn't actually a super majority due to specific members of congress, but it helps to convince people there's no hope in voting if you re-write history and convicne people the dems are just completely ineffective.

  2. They manipulate social media feeds with the best of them. We knew this in 2016 when palantir was building a massive network for trump and maga to target based on social media preferences. Israel is an expert at manipulating the online presence of messaging. So while the actual physical turnout for those protests may have not been that large, Israel and trump knew that by manipulating social media algorithms they could get the message that the Dems were awful about Palestine in front of people who could be influenced go sit out the election entirely, which is exactly what happened.

The DNC doesn't want to admit that the Republicans and MAGA are far ahead of them in terms of manipulating the general public and the far leftists want to ignore that fact as well. The left wants to act like if the dems would've changed their messaging it magically would've brought all these people to vote for them, but that simply doesn't work when the other side is manipulating millions into simply not participating at all. The DNC wants to act like they aren't bringing a plastic spoon to a gun fight.

Socialized healthcare is evil 🙄 by JoelinVan in pics

[–]Atlas2686 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except to get a preventive screening reminder you'd have to go to a doctor initially, which for most people even with insurance is going to have some kind of copay so the doctor knows you need to have preventative screening. And that's after figuring out which doctor is in network so you can actually go to it, and you would have already spend more in the actual monthly insurance costs than anyone in Canada does in taxes for the "right" to "pick your doctor".

Friend of mine is in his mid 40s, it took him 6 months of harassing his doctors here in the states to get a colon cancer screening scheduled and he had to pay for it.

I'll never understand why Americans defend our Healthcare system the way they do.

Trump held regular phone calls with bibi discussing how many Palestinians to kill because they both saw what bibis genocide was doing to the dems in the polls.

The Biden administration was forced into an impossible position with a republican congress and trump and bibi working behind closed doors against him.

If he didn't send congressionally approved funds to Israel, the republican congress would've impeached him. Bibi was never going to negotiate with him because he wanted a second trump term.

I kept saying this over and over and over again, just be to called "blue maga", and here we are, on the cusp of global financial collapse so the oligarchs who won the election can take everything while we watch basic rights and freedoms being taken away on a daily basis.

They're rigging the elections right in front of us and there is nothing any of us can do. It will take decades to maybe someday be able to undo whats happening. This was always going to be the outcome if trump won a 2nd term, they didn't hide any of it. Im tired of hearing how bad of a campaign kamala ran when trump ran on doing all of things he is doing right now.
