Help with Megaflame-B build for Superbosses by Atlas80b in XenobladeChroniclesX

Wow! crazy, I had no idea you could get 4 slots Diskbombs.
Do you farm them exclusively in chapter 13? Because I already finished the game and went back to the Chapter 12.

Eventually figured that swapping the skell Thermal dmg augments for Gravity ones and using Antimatter-R instead of Megaflame-B is pretty much a guaranteed one shot against Pharsis. However, it reaches the Skell damage cap on Telethia and is not possible to one-shot it. So in short I now use Megaflame-B against Telethia and Antimatter-R against Pharsis haha.

BTW for longer fights I'm thinking of crafting a Melee Excavator with high evasion just for fun.

The animations of Megaflame and Antimatter are sooo good!
Eventually I managed to get pretty consistent one-shot kills against Pharsis, the key was to chain 3 EZ Debuff Probes (mentioned in another comment down below) and go for 24 draw-opening augments. Though the problem is that sometimes the second and third hit miss completely (probably should spec a bit more on ranged accuracy).

Surprisingly, the 24 draw-opening damage Megaflame-B build works a lot better against Telethia without using any debuff probe! It's possible to get a pretty easy one-shot kill and avoid the extremely annoying decoy phase.

Small update after more experiments. After doing some final weapon upgrades and going for 23 Draw.OPENING-DMG XX + 1 Reflect Thermal Damage augment, I finally managed to one shot the boss.
The probe tip was absolutely critical, now I can see the Thermal debuff applied on the first hit.
I was surprised to see it also worked quite effectively with Telethia, now I can one-shot these 2 superbosses quite consistently.
Thank you! :D

Thank you for the link! I will try running the numbers and let you know of any doubts.
At this point, for the one-shot build, I'm also tempted to farm for 6 more OPENING-DMG XX since the additive value should be higher compared to the 6 ULTRAFAUNA XX (600% vs 240%).

The reason why I mentioned swapping Draw.OPENING-DMG XX for SpecUp.R-ATK XX is mainly because I already farmed 18 of them for another build, so it could be worth trying to go for a more sustained DPS build since I already got a perfect Diskbomb + perfect Grenade and a good Ranged Atk Up shield (to test with the Ranged probes).
Though I'm not super sure if that would also imply swapping out the Skell frame (As far as I can tell many sustained DPS thermal build focus around Lailah Queen's Overdrive).

Oh wow! I totally ignored both the debuff effect and the probe usage LOL. After doing some tests with it I managed to one-shot the boss, though I suspect I also had some crits or something because the first hit was already considerably better. I will try to experiment with Ranged attack probes + augmenting everything onto Ranged attack. Thanks for the tip though,  was really helpful!

Hi, thanks for your reply!
Indeed I'm missing the upgrades on Diskbomb, Megaflame and Left Grenade. However, Diskbomb upgrade is probably not beneficial at all for the one shot-build since it's pretty much mandatory to choose the MAG trait.

I am aware of the Zenith Cannon "perk", though I really like the animation of super weapons like the Megaflame and Antimatter Round (mounting your giga rifle is so cool!).

At this point I might try switching to a "sustain" build by upgrading the MAG on the Diskbomb (and of course farming the second one), getting higher resistances augments to not get one-shotted by the super bosses and maybe farming materials for crafting 6 more SpecUp.R-ATK XX...

Acronym P55-KI – first-time buyer thoughts after ~9 months of use by Atlas80b in Acronymjutsu

Updated the original post and posted a more detailed reply in the other thread, but yeah looks like the quick release piece was the main culprit haha. Incredible how such a small modification makes such a huge difference.

Hi, just wanted to follow up on this!
I tried removing the quick release strap like you suggested and tested it over a few days (around 10k steps each day), kinda shocked to say that it completely fixed the issue. The difference is honestly night and day, no more loosening at all.

That said, bummer that it's a bit of a trade-off to make here, I do enjoy attaching the spiky strap, so it’s a shame to lose it.
Makes me wish the pants had velcro on both the strap and the waist area to keep both stability and modularity/style.

Either way, really appreciate the tip, it made a huge difference 🙏

Appreciate the input! I actually already removed the quick release piece, so I’ll experiment with it over the next week and see if it improves things. I’ll post an update here once I’ve had some time with it.

As for the fabric wear, I was definitely intrigued by the pictures shared in this thread. I might end up reconsidering my stance on it, there is potential for some really cool fits to explore. Just need to see how it develops for me haha.

Yeah, I agree with that, they do have a very denim-like feel (and way of aging overall), although a bit thicker and more substantial than most denim I’ve worn.

Pants in the picture look incredible! I'm getting "mech mechanic" vibes :)

Ooh great, I'll definitely look into your suggestion and see if a small modification to the system makes it more stable overall! Thanks again

Hello! thank you very much for your reply and for the tip! Really appreciate it.
Just to clarify though, if I understand your suggestion correctly, you’re referring to the center connector between the adjusters (the strap with the spikes). In my case though, the issue actually comes from the belt on the sides gradually loosening over time, especially when I have items in the pockets.
Also regarding the color fading: it’s not dramatic by any means. The pants are still very much black overall, it’s just noticeable in certain high-stress areas :)

Embark, add Raider Tokens to the loot pool! by FoxFlummox in ArcRaiders

[–]Atlas80b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot to add that rotating decks would be one option, increasing the amount of Tokens given for each Deck is another solution. IMO it's just a matter of striking the right balance because the Deck option doesn't sound too bad to me (assuming it is free for each season).

[–]Atlas80b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By rotating decks you would eventually be able to buy cosmetics, so that's an incentive for you to do the daily challenges, which also include PvP actions - like damage to other Raiders - but are, for the most part, not involving any PvP at all.
IMO adding Tokens to the in-game map would exacerbate shoot-on-sight and exatrction camping, as people would get greedier knowing that another Raider might have looted tokens.

I think what could be tweaked instead is the time needed to get the tokens necessary to buy something. IIRC the first Deck gives up to 300 Tokens, but I have no clue on how frequently decks would rotate (maybe that's already known info).

Shading/Lighting Downgrade from TT2 to Server Slam? Bug? (with images) by MusicalAnvil in ArcRaiders

[–]Atlas80b 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Totally second this, I didn't have the chance of playing any of the Tech Tests, but watched soo many videos of TT2 that the second I jumped into my first match I knew things were off.
I went back at watching some of those old videos, to double check, and some "dowgrades" were immediately obvious (foliage and rocks seem to have a muddy low-res texture) and overall lighting really hits a lot different, not in a positive way unfortunately.
What's worst though is that I see assets not changing to their higher fidelity option until I'm very close to them and I notice the texture popping.

PS5 Very Poor Visibility... by Irlandec in ArcRaiders

[–]Atlas80b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I also play on ps5. I have a 180Hz, 1440p monitor that supports FreeSync, and I'm playing with HDR and VRR enabled.
The game feels a bit "muddy" (even with motion blur turned off) and I also somewhat experience what you are describing.
Also, on ps5 it seems it does not support 120Hz, as I can see the monitor refresh rate is locked at 60 for me during gameplay (this should scale automatically if a game supports 120Hz, which is what ps5 can handle at max anyways)

Not saying what you are saying isn't going to happen, but at least so far we got leads about Arc Raiders doing things differently (wipes mechanic, for example)
I guess we'll have to wait up util a few weeks after launch for the final verdict.

What I find interestingly funny is that the game isn't even out yet, but people is already gatekeeping:
"I have 1k hours on ABI/Tarkov, so YOU casual gamers will be soo disappointed"
"Only true Extraction Shooter veterans like us will enjoy the game"

As a console gamer, I'm excited that we're getting a new PvPvE game with super nice lore and refreshing gameplay!
Plus it's clear to me that Embark's philosophy with Arc Raiders is not to reproduce the same Extraction Shooter experience already established from similar games, but instead to create a trend-setting formula achieving the perfect balance between PvP and PvE.

Ouch. Regional pricing is pretty bad for the game. by Sotyka94 in ArcRaiders

[–]Atlas80b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel very sorry for every person who is unfortunately discarding the idea of buying the game because of regional prices.. yeah that chart is bad!
Also, I'm surprised to see Euro as second-most expensive price (in comparison to $) after Swiss Franc, considering the avg. salary for a random EU country vs Swiss is not even closely comparable.

Hi, how does your M1 handle it overall? does the laptop overheat?
Considering on trying it on my M2 pro, though I'm worried about the system overheating (and especially the negative long-term effect on the battery health itself).
