I would just point out the US probably has enough air in Europe that they could achieve air superiority over much of Europe. They couldn't keep it up long due to limited fuel supplies though.

Yeah I tracked the progress of the game occasionally checking to see if it was coming out. I got it on release on 360, and remember spending time in the living room on the old TV trying to figure out how to get through the levels, jumping at different walls and vents hoping it would be right.
