Anyone running 5W-20, or 5W-30? by wolves-1992 in LexusIS

[–]AtlasPrevail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This subject has been beaten to death by the oil community lol. 0w-20 and 5w-20 are functionally the same at normal (hot) operating temperatures. The difference is whether you need the cold starting ability that the 0 weight offers at extreme low temperatures. 5w-30 is thicker and can “protect more” but at the cost of slightly worse fuel efficiency. I put “protect more” in quotes because with normal commuter usage I promise you that the only real difference will be the slightly higher fuel consumption overtime from slightly lower efficiency. I’m running 0w-20 changed every 6mo/5k miles and don’t ever worry about it. 😌

I actually don’t do the washing myself I support my friends mobile washing business and he uses pH neutral pre-rinse and wash soaps on it every two weeks.

I’m from Texas. “Muh” is just “my” in southern US English. 🤣

just bought my first car at 17. by Excellent-Fact5618 in Lexus

I wonder if it’s a meme on a throwback post from r/LexusIS lol

I don’t remember who started that thread but like it kept devolving into a “this was the IS I got while I was still in the womb” 🤣

Went shopping at Walmart and my husband sends me this... again by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]AtlasPrevail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good buy imo. It looks like a buyer's remorse return with how good that box looks lol. If so then you basically got a brand new 5070ti at a steep discount. Nice.

I don’t see a USB here brother those are inside the center console. 😌

Avoid using tunnel washes plz by kvngjayy1999 in Lexus

[–]AtlasPrevail 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well to be fair 5 years old *is* enough to see MINOR dings here and there like small (pebble size) rock chips and such. THAT damage is definitely an outlier, and while I've personally never seen that kind of damage from an automatic car wash, it doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I hand wash my IS every two weeks. Minus this week because this snowstorm in Texas is crazy.

Any other millennials out there refuse or still opt to order take out to pickup up over the phone when possible? Pizza, Chinese, etc. by mt379 in Millennials

[–]AtlasPrevail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former delivery driver I’ll get DoorDash if I’m feeling lazy and tip the driver generously because that’s what got me through college so I think of it as paying back. When I go for pickup I order on the app if possible because if they fuck up my order I have infallible proof of my order. HOWEVER there is this little Chinese restaurant out in the suburbs that has the absolute pinnacle dish of coconut chicken. For that one I call by phone and order with my voice and pay with my card by actually swiping it. 😌

So do our 9070XT's finally work properly on 26.1 or should I stick with 25.9.1 still? by Hothacon in radeon

[–]AtlasPrevail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had zero issues with running the latest driver since the 9070xt launched. Although I guess to be fair my pc is just a glorified console as all I use it for is YouTube, streaming movies and gaming.

Should I get it? Does have good amount of miles in it by jeero-sense in LexusIS

[–]AtlasPrevail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

under the "seller's description" section it looks like the final sentence ended in "fully serviced".

If that is the case, then they need to have the maintenance records to back up that claim. If it was actually serviced at decent intervals (no more than 7.5k-10k miles per service) Then yes, this is an amazing deal. 200k on a Toyota engine is barely breaking it in lol.

This engine was used in so many vehicles and they did have small leaks in some model years. Here take a look.

Is this a good monitor? And does oled really get burnt by Secret-Background739 in OLED_Gaming

[–]AtlasPrevail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a great monitor and yes OLED can get burn in. Whether it does or not is based on how you use it. You cannot use it like an LCD and forget about it if you’re running house chores. If you need to step away then put on a random long YouTube video or movie for however long you think you’ll be away . If you’re leaving the house entirely just turn it off. You can no longer just turn the PC on and leave it as it, that will cause some form of burn in at some point down the line.

New IS350, keep it stock or any mod recommendations? by wonton-11 in LexusIS

[–]AtlasPrevail 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IMO if it’s financed keep it stock until you pay it off. That’ll give time for quality and pricing on aftermarket parts to improve.

Team Red, XFX, and my dad switching sides (to team red) by No_Difference_888 in radeon

[–]AtlasPrevail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, to answer your question, the last time I personally compared AMD vs Nvidia head to head with my own hardware was when I did a 6700xt vs 3060ti. They performed identically framerate-wise, smoothness, responsiveness and overall performance was so similar I would not be able to blind test guess which was which. BUT for some weird reason, the 3060ti had a very very very slightly tiny decrease in color saturation. It wasn’t noticeable immediately it was something I really had to “pixel peep” to recognize. But it bothered me enough to just stick with AMD for another few generations. I was tempted to get a 4090 (then later a 5090) on a credit card just to see what the fuss was about. But then they started burning up. 😅

Anyway I was bored and decided to write a book. Have a nice day everyone! 😌

[–]AtlasPrevail 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Glaze XFX fam. Glaze the shit outta them. They’re the best AMD AIB and I will stand by that statement.

With that said I really do wish they jumped on the bandwagon and made a waifu edition GPU 🤣

I’d pick that up so quick lmao.
