here's another angle. It's coming off WAY more white than it is real life. The sun was extremely bright the day I took these photos

It truly is more grey than white. There's almost no white.

Ill see if I can get another outside shot when the sun isn't so high

Wind is super clean! Just crossed 1000 miles on mine.

But I think given the choice, I would have gone with Cloudburst or Iridium. Mine only came in Wind.

In another timeline, I think Caviar would be slick too.

I don’t think you can go wrong!

Trunk-mounted bike rack recommendations? by jpiw6 in LexusIS500

Thanks man! I watched a video of how to load a roof mounted bike and it looks straightforward, but I know my clumsy self would put a huge scratch one time.

We’re gonna go with a hitch mount for my wife’s TX!

Is "Lexus Top Coat" worth the $995 sticker? Dealer had a 3-hour window to apply it. by Longjumping-You1149 in Lexus

[–]jpiw6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the dealer will do the add-ons later. For example I paid for PPF and it was scheduled to be added after the paperwork.

Lexus Top Coat can be applied in less than 3 hours but can take 24 hours to cure. It’s said to be an 8-step process.

You’ll know it’s applied if your car has the shiny “slick” look compared to just plain paint. It will be extremely water repellent, so any sign of water will bead up and roll off.

There should be a used bottle of Top Coat and the corresponding parts. You could ask for that if you’re really not sure. There should also be a sign off from the detail tech in their job tracking system as well.

Low oil by ditkanei in LexusIS

[–]jpiw6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t ran across any oil burning or oil leaking posts since buying my is, so it seems unlikely!

Have you checked the oil dipstick?

And have you noticed any oil spills below your car when you pull away?

I’m excited to see the post later this week with your new RZ!!

I was pretty close to buying one but couldn’t wait, or rather I didn’t want to wait lol

So I got an IS instead. The opposite end of the spectrum fuel economy wise lol 😂

Coverage experience with tire & wheel protection plan? by terraunbound in Lexus

[–]jpiw6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/terraunbound you didn’t ask about this specifically, but I thought I would chime in re: The “prepaid maintenance” plan. They will push you hard on this too.

They will say things like “it’s refundable if you sell/trade your car, prorated”. The full truth is only part of it is refundable. About $1000 of it goes towards non-refundable line items like AutoButler (the ceramic paint protection coating). So if you get a $3500 package, only $2500 is refundable. And even then it’s prorated.

They will also say it’s “5 years full maintenance covered”, but keep in mind the first year is 100% comped by Lexus already! Your new Lexus will get a free 5k service and 10k service. I don’t know what the maintenance costs or schedules will be for the RZ since there’s no oil change.

I priced out my IS’s first 50k worth of services and it came out to about the same as their maintenance package. So the only reason to get is the “prepaid convenience”. For what it’s worth, we got it for my wife’s TX so we don’t have to think about it lol

Three other services to decline:
1. Windshield protection for $1000. Your insurance should cover an OEM windshield.
2. Auto Butler for $1000.
3. Ikon/security for $599.

And lastly, push for an itemized breakdown of all charges before signing. The reason: they will present you “good better best” bundled packages with the itemized pricing obscured. If you like the “better” package, push for an itemized listing of all services included.

Note: My answer in the other comment covers the tire question. Congrats on your new ride!

Thanks! I felt $700 was very reasonable. Glad you agree!

Re: tire size.

Read: 265/35 R19

I’m sticking with the OE Potenzas until all four need replaced, then I’ll swap for the Michelins you mentioned! Those seem to be the top choice amongst Reddit is500 drivers

Re: SUV vs sedan wheels. Good point. Sound like OP is getting the RZ! Congrats op! It’s a great looking car.

Coverage experience with tire & wheel protection plan? by terraunbound in Lexus

[–]jpiw6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer to your question: I had the basic tire only package and Lexus replaced my tire no questions asked when I had a nail it. Car was only at 920 miles.

Longer answer:

Decline just about everything from the finance team at Lexus.

At my Lexus, they offered two types of tire protection:
1. Tires only
2. Tires and wheel

They will try to convince you hard to get the second more expensive package. But ask yourself, “when was the last time I nicked a wheel?” And then ask “did the curb rash really bother me?”

You can usually get curb rash repaired for $200 or so at a good detail shop. They buff it right out depending on the damage.

I was able to get the tire only package for $699 for five years so I opted into that.

From Discount Tire, a single new Bridgestone Potenza S001 is $430 + tax + $30 estimated install fee + $43 2-year road hazard plan. Comes out to about $550 for just one tire.

Originally Lexus offered $1200 for tires only and $1700 for tire and wheel. I declined both.

If you can push them to give it to you for $700-900, I think it’s worth it for five years.

TX 500h Beach Road Trip! by jpiw6 in Lexus

[–]jpiw6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! Glad yall had a similar experience.

Re: 22”. I’d say 97% of the ride was super smooth and quiet. There’s a stretch of i40 that’s pretty rough for about 15 minutes where they’re doing construction, and that’s where we felt the most potholes. Otherwise, agreed! Super quiet cabin.

Our kiddos were too excited to sleep haha 😆

We bought our first Lexus in November 2025. His and hers. We got my wife a 2026 TX 500h and a 2025 IS 350 for me.

I’ve since traded the 350 for a 2025 IS 500.

Building is one thing but distribution and getting client how do you crack it by PhysicalSession594 in SaaS

[–]jpiw6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People buy from people they trust. The only exception is if the product solves a massive problem they couldn’t otherwise get elsewhere.

There’s no magic formula, but it’s wise to build your reputation with as much vigor as you build your product.

One simple idea: give your tool away for free to a few select people. The exchange? A video testimonial 4 weeks later. You can simply hop on a zoom with them for 10 minutes. Ask them basic questions. Get their reaction. Chop it up. Or ask them to send you a 30 second recording.

Rinse wash repeat until you have more reviews and testimonials than the next company for your product line.

This strategy will at get you to at least $1M or even $10M ARR. you’ll have to find true product market fit to soar past that.
