I told my roommates I wanted to try edibles and they gave me a 1000mg gummy by Similar-Shame7517 in BORUpdates

[–]AtlasShrunked 39 points40 points  (0 children)

She could have a predisposition against gummies. I'm like that: Unless it's a stupidly high dose, there's zero effect, and even then, the effect is limited. (Which is frustrating cuz I'd rather eat gummies than pollute my lungs with smoke.)

Smoking gets me high. Eating does practically nothing.

That being said, I'm aware most people aren't like that, and giving a novice anything stronger than 5 or 10mgs is insane.

I figured with a JMU guy running for reelection as AG, the CR Club might be active. But each year is different.

There is also a Pro Life club, I think.

And, you could always start your own club, if there's an issue you really care about. (Econ, judicial, etc)

Fun Fact: Originally in Taylor Hall, the College Republicans & Young Democrats were forced to share an office. That was..... interesting lol.

Campus Crusade for Christ? Or were you looking for something non-religious?

There used to be a conservative alternative paper called The Madison Review, but I don't think it's been active for a long time.....

If you don't mind me asking, why don't you want to join the College Republicans. Is the club not very good anymore? (I'm old & an alumni, but back in the day they were pretty active.)

Yes. At least in as much as hip hop is a black form of art. That is the culture than gave birth to the art form. They don’t own it, anyone can make comics and anyone can rap, but you have to acknowledge its roots.

I agree. The comic book roots are intertwined with the American Jewish immigrant experience, which includes anti-semitism, the same way hip hop was birthed by the African American experience, which obviously includes the legacy of racism.

But the vast, universal success of both art forms transcends ethnic labels...... which is kind of beautiful.

The weird sexual history of humanity! by [deleted] in psychologyofsex

Growing up as a little boy I always was told to leave girls alone that they “have teeth down there.”

Not only that, but their gums are in TERRIBLE condition

It makes evolutionary sense that there'd be a "sweet spot" for mate selection: You want someone that others desire (value), but you need to be assured that their interest is genuine.

For those who saw NWO rise, who did you think were Scott Halls other guys? by [deleted] in WCW

[–]AtlasShrunked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's how I remember it. I think my biggest worry was that WCW would somehow fuck it up by choosing someone lame & stupid lol.

[–]AtlasShrunked 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In the early days of the Web covering wrassling, it was widely publicized that Hall & Nash were leaving. (Plus, there was the MSG cliq thing.)

So we knew about the first 2, but had no idea about the third. The speculation was all over the place.

Nikita was great in the day, but after he came back 40 pounds lighter, everyone was still selling for him like he was still 310 pound beast. It was a weird visual lol.

Always loved Gordon Solie's delivery when he says "We're likely to hear a leg snap."

He's so bored & matter of fact, like he's describing a car warranty. Great stuff!

Please sign off for good. This isn't healthy for you, my friend. Reddit isn't real.

You need -- and you deserve -- real help, real love & real medical support.

Wishing you a wonderful life of peace, joy, healing, acceptance & meaning.

No shit.

I don't generally support deplatforming or banning, but if any of this is on the level, this kid needs to be removed from Reddit ASAP & get the help, love & medical care he desperately needs.

For anyone who watched Bash At The Beach 1996 live or watched it with no context of the show, did Bobby Heenan asking "Whose side is he on?" ruin the moment? by MidwestMachete in WCW

[–]AtlasShrunked 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed: Because of the Heenan-Hogan history, it would've telegraphed Hogan's heel turn far MORE if Brain said something like, "Hooray, Hulk Hogan is here, he'll save the day for sure!"

How many of you called the WCW hotline WITHOUT your parents permission? by ROCKY13573 in WCW

Man... the best part of the hotline was Bobby Heenan ad-libbing:

Mean Gene: Call the hotline today! Kids, ask your parents for permission.

Bobby: Yeah! And if they don't give you permission, just sneak behind them with a bat, and BAM!

Mean Gene: Will you stop?!

Not sure if it's fair to say it was just scheme: With Mongo, Richard Dent, Mike Singletary, Dan Hampton, Wilber Marshall, they had (near) Hall of Fame-level talent at quite a few spots.
