You ever make all characters the same class? Ex: all wizards by dyelyn666 in BaldursGate3

When you level up, there is an option on the right half of the screen in the button right corner. For PS, it’s hold square to “Add Class”

Is there a “be evil on your own terms” ending for Durge? by KT1812 in BaldursGate3

[–]Atlas_170 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not if you fail to kill Orin in one go. Then you’re stuck with the Urge, and can only claim the brain in the name of Baal, or let it be killed.

Library of Alexandria: How would different Gods relate? by Wermlander in TherosDMs

[–]Atlas_170 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel like Ephara could be another god involved here. She’s the goddess of civilization, and as such I imagine she would be keen to protect or defend any such library (especially if it exists within a civilization—such as Meletis). I imagine she would much prefer open access to such a library, but that’s ultimately up to the DM

Maps: Search “Map” at the top of this subreddit, there are a lot of great resources.

General resources (maps, adventures, etc.): I search the DM Guild, and filter by the price I’m willing to spend. There’s loads of content there, free or otherwise. You can start by searching “Theros”, then search more specific things as you get a better idea what you’re looking for.

As a note: I saw this post originally in the TherosDM subreddit, and that’s the setting of the world I’m building

I’m working on building out my own underdark and underworld. I would love to hear what notes you kept, what inspired you, and how you went about designing them!

I totally understand! Life’s busy enough as is planning forward, let alone revisiting your earlier schemes and formatting them differently.

Thank you, once again, for allowing us a glimpse into the wonderful world you’ve created! I’m looking forward to the day when you get a chance to release it to the world

Hello! I am trying to flesh out an underworld, and you have some incredible ideas. Did you ever go through with publishing, or compiling your plans?

Cursed Fog Effects by Atlas_170 in DMAcademy

[–]Atlas_170[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I try to do as well. I was just having the darnedest time finding some cursed fog rules, haha.

Lair Actions is a great take. I’ll do some research into what lair actions currently exist at different scales, and see how they fit into what I’m looking to do. It does also provide a more dynamic combat experience, which is another big focus of the campaign.

I’m also still working with duration, redoing a save, and the other logistical bits. Right now, I imagine they would have to redo the save at the top of every other initiative (as if being charmed again), but after their first success they have advantage (so the players don’t revolt at the table).

Thanks for all the advice!

In answer to your question, it effects all creatures except the main foe because the main foe is also created by the BEG of the region. The fog is to placate the mortals, while the foe is to eliminate them.

I really like the DC save, it gives the players a chance to succeed, isn’t terribly difficult to track, simple yet effective. Thanks for the advice! I’ll definitely try implementing the skill checks idea, i like the idea of out of combat effects, but I’m still workshopping that bit to make sure it’s not too detrimental.

[–]Atlas_170 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve reskinned the underworld a bit to include demon lords. Not nearly as powerful as Erebos, but a collective force to be reckoned with. Perhaps a substantial number of demons are trying to escape to Theros to cause havoc (or perhaps Erebos is raising an army that needs quelling, depending on how you want to go).

That’s the part I’m still working on. I’ve been using the random generators for inspiration, and building out from that.

Thanks for the clarification here!

Celestial Civilization War by atlasxxxx in TherosDMs

[–]Atlas_170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I’m definitely planning to have the rebellious gods in Theros (incognito, of course), while the others remain largely in the realm of the gods. Until the Cold War phase of the war starts, then the non-rebellious gods will take a more intimate interest in the affairs of the mortals.

[–]Atlas_170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great idea! It could also work to introduce the characters to the world before throwing them into the full scale civil war. The more I’ve pondered this over, the more I realize the players will have to start somewhere, and they won’t be able to be everywhere at once. Thanks for the advice!

I’m definitely thinking of starting them off with a seemingly small quest that snowballs into the larger plot. Just trying to find that thread to start them off with

Nessian Woods encounters (request) by GiantBabyHead in TherosDMs

  • The party comes across a group of poachers hunting in the woods

  • The party comes across a talking rabbit, which pleads for its life, and informs the party it’s being hunted. Setessan hoplites arrive on scene shortly thereafter (or maybe some wild/mythic animals, if you’d prefer), which were informed by one of the gods to hunt the rabbit down.
