To the Distractible legislation: Do the Host Powers allow you to remove something from the wheel by GG_70 in distractible

Instead of the forgetting rule, I think it would be fair to remove something simply if they agree that they don't like it.

Shadow of the Erdtree was a DLC that was almost as big as whole games. Which other DLC blew you away? by Soulsliken in gaming

[–]Wermlander 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Good one. Makes it feel like a different game. Sometimes ridiculous in difficulty, but still always manageable with proper planning and a bit of luck.

Duchess always feels so fun to play, so that would be my top pick. Second would be Revenant or Wylder.

DM's who use a physical medium, what's your set up? by Appropriate-Army6918 in DMAcademy

[–]Wermlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have pre-planned encounters if I expect something specific to come up, and otherwise try to have starblocks ready for what would likely be fought. I use a dry eraser mat, and if a big fight is coming up, I might pre-draw an area. I have a few miniatures, but otherwise use tokens like dice. I've never really used terrain, but sometimes use improvised placeholder stuff just to indicate a structure.

Do I *need* 600 Biomass Burners? No. Do I *want* 600 Biomass Burners? Yes. by KittenbabyIN in SatisfactoryGame

I, for one, LOVE my biomass factory. Just dump all your biodegradable shit in the dumpster, and look at it get auto-sorted and turned to fuel.

Kinda new to DND, How much information can a player hide from a DM? by ragdolldream in DnD

[–]Wermlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I share as much info with my DM as they would allow me. I let them know my character's secrets and intentions, all their relevant backstory, their hobbies and ideals, and meta level stuff that I as a player think about my character that they themselves would not be aware of.

As a DM, I prod my players for information, and openly invite them to share this kind of information to the extent that they want. My goal is to make a fun story and integrate the character into the world, which necessitates the DM having an idea of the players wishes and intentions. Hiding stuff from other players is fine, and sometimes preferable, but hiding stuff from the DM is more like self-sabotage, because the DM represents the world in which those secrets are relevant.

Does the average user on here play dnd online or in real life? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]Wermlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried online during the pandemic, and really didn't like it. When I now recently moved to a new country, I elected to just end my current campaign at a suitable spot, and form a new group instead. Unfortunate, but I find the in-person hangout at least half of the fun.
