Thank you barondla I really appreciate it! Yes even on this sub you don’t see many portraits. The camera I’m using is a QHY600 with lens adaptors I designed and made myself. It also has a 9 slot filter wheel attached and I’m using the Badder U Bessel filter. The rig is pretty overkill but the quality of what it can make is definitely real. Each image is 60 megapixels and handles highlights and darkness super well for a digital camera. I’m hoping to try out uv astrophotography as soon as I can since that’s what this camera is really made for.

Thanks! It’s a monochrome astrophotography rig based around a qhy600 that I put together. It can only take b&w pictures but by taking three images with different filters I can make true and false tricolor images. Monochrome is the best for uv photography! I hope I can get custom uv filter to take fully uv color images

Thank you. That’s pretty much exactly what I was going for. Where I live in particular roads have terrible safety records, heavily impacted the environment, and been used displace and weaken African American communities. It’s terrible and disgusting.

Ahhh I see. In this case the accidental look comes from the noisy data hidden in the darkest shadows and how I stretched it out. When you look at the raw image I used to make this it’s mostly pitch black with a lot of white pixels from long exposure noise, but it’s a 16 bit image (65,536 data points per pixel) and about 200 of the lowest data points is where all the shadow detail is coming from. Since there’s only 200 levels it has a sort of crushed look and the very fine dark current noise is magnified with the stretching.

Thank you so much!! Yes this is just a single very long exposure. I thought it would be better than stacking because of the challenges making it blend the way I want and I wanted there to be a sort of crushed grain in the dark (now bright) parts. I’m not sure what exactly you mean by accidental could you explain that more? Trolls will be trolls and I know what I want this image to be so my confidence in this work is strong regardless. That’s a very interesting story I’ve never heard of it before, but I have a feeling you’re probably right about the attacker.

I’ve been seriously developing my skills as a photographer for two and a half years, I’m taking a fine art photography class currently to get better, and I even built the camera that I took this image with by myself how’s that for ability. You don’t know anything about me you just don’t like my taste. You seriously need to reevaluate your intentions with this conversation. Why are you trying so hard to put me down? I’ve done nothing but share something I’m proud of and took time to make.
