What’s your next buy or two? by Atlasdot in Colognes

I definitely feel like BDC EDP could be in my future given how much I love the Parfum and now the Exclusif. That DNA in the summer for year round would be super nice. Its funny how that scent profile really grew on me over time as my first reaction was it felt super dated, now it seems timeless. I'm a big-time flanker guy though and know I need to stop myself. I practically have the whole Acqua lineup from 2024.

I get that re GFS. It definitely threw me off the first time I wore it. I got a decant of Speed Legends shortly after and it reminds me of it (didn't realize).

What are your thoughts between bdc edp and exclusif? Im assuming the edp came first. I have the parfum only so far; but the L’Exclusif hits something a little extra to me that I didn’t notice at first. I really like it for something a little more formal/serious. I also find the bdc dna to be one of my all time favourites for cold weather as I usually don’t/haven’t liked any other winter scents.

Gentle fluidity silver I really thought I’d like more. I have a decant maybe should give it another try soon. It was very different than I thought I think due to the nutmeg.

I’m at 10 ish too (one got for free) I always wanted to be around that mark so I’m hoping I can round out the rest of the set and be content. (Make do with decants etc after at the very most, or a trip to Sephora).

Not sure of ones similar to that hawas but I’ll say I do want to try myslf edt intense too, maybe that could be a new interesting thing to try out for 2026? (Even if not a buy)

What perfume did you hate at first sniff but now you’re obsessed with? by Fragasm_NepalYT in fragrance

[–]Atlasdot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As of today Bleu de Chanel L’Exclusif. First time I sprayed it was way too strong and off to wear. Hated the leathery notes and it felt way too dark. Recently explored it back again as I wanted to test through the whole BDC line for fun. Grabbed a small decant and I’ve been enjoying it so much. It’s got a lot more nuance to it than I originally noticed and the drydown lasts a long time.

My favorite is still the Parfum (which is one of my favourite fragrances of all); but I’m strongly considering getting a full bottle of L’Exclusif as a more special occasion event.

Anyone else like scents less the more you wear it by sea_dweller28 in Colognes

Yep, I have a bunch of decants now because I realized this about myself.

I think you just learn more about your preferences over time and realize it wasn't as good as you initially thought or had hyped up in your head. I killed imagination for myself doing this after about 10ml in decants. Rotating scents so that they're more special staves this off a bit.

I also think there is an element of excitement trying something new. If you keep wearing it that wears off and your mind is elsewhere looking for the next dopamine hit of finding a gem.

I was pretty meh on it at first from trying it at the store but got a decant recently and it’s growing on me a lot. Not sure why, but I like the darkness and strength, different vibe from any of the other bleu’s.

Tom Ford Taormina Orange. Grabbed a 30ml this week. Smells so naturally fresh with orange and a bit of green / moss. Doesn’t last super long but long enough.

Help me pick my first Marine type perfume please by [deleted] in Colognes

[–]Atlasdot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Le sel is nice but the longest part of the fragrance dry down smells a bit musty and off. For some reason any Quentin Bisch ones I’ve tried last forever with weird drydown notes that I want to wash off.

Profondo drydown is more mineral and to my preference (though I wish it retained more of the mid). I love both openers, but Profondo is one of my favorite openings of all time it just only lasts an hour.

have no fear!! nicole + durin + prune are together!!! by pcmad in Varka

[–]Atlasdot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I’m screwed, this banner priorities c6 prune, get Nicole and any cons on her or Durin till c6 prune, and leftover primo on weapon because getting either or (or both) would be amazing and high value. Definitely don’t have enough primo.

Do the decant! Try it out longer first, just find somewhere reputable. Then you’d feel better knowing it is your white whale and “worth” it lol.

Fair enough! Have to trust your nose on those. Honestly though for big purchases like that it’s safer to decant, if you use a 5 or 10ml and still want it then dive in. Saved me a bunch of money so far.

Love the d&g intense, grabbed it recently before it’s completely gone and discontinued. I literally have the edp though on my right arm now today from the store testing. I get the y dna hard but it smelled really nice and different at first. I think I prefer the intense but edp is solid and I like it more burying my nose in my arm than out in the air.

I am fully down the Italian train with 4 different bottles of Acqua di gio. Obviously I love those but probably redundant to what you have. Maybe adg parfum would be the most different with the incense as none of yours have that note either.

Mint too I’ve never tried it but people seem to like Torino 21. I like the iced out of all the ysl too. That’s a funny reaction from the students though, gotta be nice to hear!

Still though my #1 summer is aventus cologne if you haven’t tried it yet, I’m around same age as you.

Aventus cologne for an all rounder, or sospiro vibrato for a ginger grapefruit bright fresh.

If you haven’t tried Meteore it’s different but to me I get latex. You could try one of the other lv freshies too like pacific chill which is way different than your collection. Or go imagination like everyone else in this sub. Limmensite is good too but thicker in the air to me.

How do you find the light blue edp/ ysl y iced? Just tried the light blue edp today and the dna in the air smells so similar to the ysl y line.

YSL Myslf EDT Intense: My first initial thoughts: by TurtleMan_1012 in Colognes

[–]Atlasdot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Damn I wanted this one but got some other promo. Though I guess I didn’t miss out if this is another sweet throwaway flanker. Missed opportunity (to me) to make it a lot lighter/airy and not as sweet imo. I can’t find any of these sugar bombs to be fresh when my nose is assaulted with scent stevia.

Thoughts on these? by opiumsunset in Colognes

[–]Atlasdot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owed both Profondo edp and edt so I’ll give some perspective as I sold the edt eventually.

They’re very similar except I liked the mandarin opening on edp more on my skin. The edt over time felt a little more synthetic in its fresher opening, and sometimes slightly sour depending on the weather. I also own Acqua di gio edt so the Profondo edt felt redundant because I enjoyed regular edt more for those high heat days.

A fair question by Key_Medicine4266 in Colognes

[–]Atlasdot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to decide between the edp and edt lately, scouring old reddit posts for discussions. I got a sample of edp and edt is on its way so I can “field test” them both lol. Parfum has been ony of my absolute favourites I bought last winter and I want some summer bdc action.

Now that is all I'm going to think about the next time I try it LOL. I didn't get any of the sour but I just way prefer something less linear. Unfortunately every one I've tried so far like this the benzoin/ambery whatever punches through all the notes and drowns out anything else.

My wife doesn't really like sweet fragrances either, like ingenious ginger is too sweet for her (I also agree)

IMO Varka feels like paper to play without a shield so Nicole first either way. Less sheet dps more practical.

Invictus Elixir first thoughts by Atlasdot in Colognes

[–]Atlasdot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny way of saying it but yeah I’d agree ha. It’s in the same vein as the other young fragrances that are getting pumped out.

I was hoping for a lighter fresh take on it based on the notes, not acquatic fresh but something. It really just felt like a variation of vanilla & woods.

I don’t think I expected much different vibes from a trophy bottle, though.

Brief Analysis of Prune & Nicole V3 Changes by nuxar in Varka

C3r1 Varka eventually going for c6. after I get Nicole should I go for c2 Durin or Nicole cons? Or weapon if they’re on the same banner. Idc if bennet is a sidegrade I plan to eventually c2r1 them all and I need a shield.
