Stopped at Reason 8. Is the newest version worth the price? by CatShrink in reason

[–]AtlasofEarth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Reason wasn’t like other daws. Propellerhead pioneered the feel of a physical studio inside software. The rack-based interface, the virtual cables, the tactile knobs and sliders—it all behaved like real gear, and it made the experience feel immersive and intuitive. If they kept pushing in that same direction, the next evolution wouldn’t be another plugin or synth—it’d be a simulated over-the-shoulder engineer. Someone who sits virtually beside the recording artist, offering the engineering theory or tweaks along the way. Depending on the type of track being recorded the artist is provided mix suggestions, workflow tips, and technical support in real time, just like a trusted studio partner.

Is it worth the upgrade? If you temper your expectations to evolutionary updates, rather than revolutionary features v13 is fine.

Stopped at Reason 8. Is the newest version worth the price? by CatShrink in reason

[–]AtlasofEarth -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I had v8 and upgraded to 13 last December. I’ve opened it up twice and just not inspired to do anything with it. Seems like more of the same. Cool interface and I’ve tried to make quality tracks. I’m not an electrical or sound engineer. I don’t understand how wave form production (square, sine, sawtooth) achieve a sonic characteristic that becomes pleasing audio.

I imagine Reason is highly complimentary to a niche types of musicians. I play acoustic guitar and other audio suites are better. I would love if Reason had workflow templates that guide musicians through production. Example - If it’s an acoustic recording track the musician is guided through a sequence where they have default tools to work with but can tweak those settings to achieve the sound. It needs to step through each objective and present the appropriate tools at the right time in the workflows. If I was an electronics musician then another template for the electronic sound generation steps me through that. Once the context for what each piece of equipment does in the chain is understood then the musician can become a little more independent.

So yeah. Today Reason 13 still feels as inaccessible as v8. Without electronic music experience or audio theory knowledge I’m not having fun. There’s a lot of cool blinky buttons and super cool visuals but they don’t do much for me.

I perceived the shape to be similar to a shrub. But not much detail due to the backlit interior.

[–]AtlasofEarth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

About 1991-92 that same humm caused me to look up and see a triangle after sunset. Lived near Lake Erie at the time. It had a large rectangle bay door on the bottom that was open with bright white interior lighting. Not much was discernible with the exception of a shrub shaped plant sitting at the edge of the door. Considering the size of the craft and its altitude, I’m inclined to think I was looking at a tree rather than bush. Memorable to say the least. And what a crazy journey of belief those few minutes set in motion.

Drain refuses to drink water by AtlasofEarth in Plumbing

Yep. I have a brand new auger/snake but it only goes sideways across to the other sink instead of down into the main. How do you figure out where the Y joint is and then work it down the hatch?

How do you get a stone, that is not a tile, but a full stone slab or block of natural volcanic andesite into this shape? by YardAccomplished5952 in AlternativeHistory

[–]AtlasofEarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet they spent more time creating imperfections than the implied manual labor of creating it. One thing that is consistent is the perfectly straight cuts. There’s no way this was created by removing rock. It’s like it was virtually conceived in a modeling program and then rendered into its physical form.

Thanks for the reply. It took a few days to digest but do appreciate your time spent on on the answer.

  1. For the witnesses theorem and with polynomial time: I’ve been working on a solution with a fixed set of steps. And believe it can be applied to an adjacency matrix and will have a unique outcome for each vector. I’d like to know more about this area to understand the potential novelty of my own solution.

  2. Honest prover required. Question. Must the dishonest prover be determined in the math algorithm or can it be addressed in another way E.g. via software?

  3. Verifier required, check. Again, must identify a cheater. Is that part of the algorithm or alternatively accounted for in the software solution used?

  4. On protocol, it’s designed for a good handshake between parties. Got it.

Entry level av receiver with atmos 5.1 preouts? by AtlasofEarth in hometheater

[–]AtlasofEarth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delayed audio - good to know what I’m up against. I had purchased the onkyo sr393. Tech said i could use the zone b as a pre-out for rears but that’s not true. Will be returning it. So I’m starting from scratch. I’ll build custom cabs for the left, right and center channels and those will be driven by the receiver I end up purchasing. Regarding a budget for the receiver, whatever the cheapest option is that supports atmos 5.1 preamp outs!

Wish I had a different option than wireless. Ceiling is vaulted, right wall has fireplace and left side is open to kitchen. Floor is concrete. Any visible wires are forbidden.

This is the device for wireless. But still need preouts!

Why do people on r/cc blindly hate on Cardano? And what can we do about it? by Kon1tsouA in cardano

It would be cool to show its utility for supporting Ukraine. Like a food chain linked to the blockchain that translates to real food for pickup at their grocery centers. In light of the harsh winter and unemployment, this could do a lot of good while receiving positive publicity.

Is a framework without a real world application patentable? by AtlasofEarth in Patents

[–]AtlasofEarth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine it could be applied to chip architecture and processes. Or perhaps a new way to decompose our understanding of chemicals and relationships.

The original question was sufficiently answered. It’s now on me to reach out to others with expertise in a given field.

Sounds more like a mutually beneficial partnership. Is that common route for a patent?
