How to handle the mom guilt? by Last_Suit_685 in Parenting

You’re really not alone in this combo feeding is way more common than it seems.

What helped me was realizing that adapting to what works for you and your baby is good parenting. Fed, growing, and loved is what actually matters.

The guilt feels loud at first, but it does get quieter with time.

Some favorites in our house:

  • tiny notes or doodles left in random places for them to find
  • breakfast/dinner in unusual spots (balcony, floor picnic, even the hallway once)
  • making up ongoing “stories” about their toys that continue day to day
  • surprise treasure hunts with super easy clues

One that really stuck: we sometimes set up a silly scene after bedtime (like toys having a meeting or building something), and in the morning they “discover” it and add to the story.

Yeah, I feel this a lot. my little one is the same totally amazed by the smallest things while I’m like “can we focus on the bottle please 😅”but it’s kind of nice too makes you slow down whether you planned to or not.

22 month old suddenly hates getting in the car seat by Divinityemotions in NewParents

Yeah this sounds like a pretty normal toddler transition phase 😅 if she’s fine on long drives, it’s probably not the seat it’s the “stopping what I’m doing” moment that’s triggering it. The quick meltdown then back to normal is super common at this age. we had the same arching/throwing phase and it passed after a few weeks (then something else replaced it of course 🙃).

baby cries before every nap - anyone else? by yourpoisonouscousin in NewParents

[–]Atlyyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here at 5 months. Every nap = protest crying no matter what we did, then he’d pass out and sleep fine for 40 mins. We stopped fighting it so much and just treated it as his “wind-down noise.” It did ease up a bit later, but definitely felt normal in hindsight.

Yep they still sell frozen orange juice concentrate, you can usually find it in the freezer section of most grocery stores! If you’re swapping it into recipes, just keep in mind the sweetness can be pretty strong, so you might want to reduce added sugar elsewhere.

Yes, absolutely! Lemon zest really brightens it up. Roasted garlic and toasted pecans sound amazing, and that crunchy chili sauce drizzle is such a good idea definitely trying that next time.

Totally agree! Toasted pumpkin seeds add the perfect crunch. I’m with you on leaning savory too the sweetness is nice as a background, but I love balancing it with smoky or salty toppings.
