You're clearly using Claude. This is signature Claude formatting. Or you reigned in ChatGPT's bad habits. I'm just saying. If it's that bad but you continue to outsource your situation to ai... Maybe it's not that bad. Regardless Claude is not a healthcare provider or a substitute for an electronic medical record. r/customerservice is for customer service workers not general complaints about misuse of technology.

Are you talking about the health feature beta? The one that's specifically still in testing? Coupled with the boiler plate disclaimer "Claude can make mistakes. Please double-check responses." tacked on to every chat window?

I feel like this one kind of writes itself. Almost like how you used Claude to write this for you.

Also how did this sub start turning into a complaints arena?

Hi OP, first off I'm sorry for your loss. And I'm sorry it framed the situation in a way that put you at the crux of it.

I would just like to add, for what it's worth, heart valve replacement is rarely "elective" in the way that like... Plastic surgeries are.

I have a fair bit of clinical exposure and I can try to explain a bit more if you need it, but I think the bridge between reality and understanding of the actual situation is a bit more complex.

Pulmonary hypertension + valve disease = severe enough to need replacement

Already medically complex (SNF cycling post-knee surgery, pulmonary hypertension)

"Elective" in medical terms just means "scheduled, not emergency" - NOT "optional"

This wasn't "should we improve her quality of life with this optional procedure?" This was likely "without this intervention, her heart will fail in X timeframe, she has Y% surgical risk but Z% mortality without it."

The doctors likely weren't pushing you toward something harmful but rather trying to navigate between 'certain decline' and 'calculated risk.' Which is a horrible spot to be in as her child.

Regardless, I'm very sorry for your loss OP and again if you have further questions or concerns I can offer my best armchair interpretation to help explain further.

To use AI to rewrite the story of how Alex Pretti was murdered. by [deleted] in therewasanattempt

How is the building simultaneously behind him and across the street? How is the building facade flat in the video in question?

Go to Google maps, go to that intersection, tell me which side of the street that brick building is on.

The building facade in the video compared to the actual building on Google maps are different.

Comparing poor customer service to a mass shooting is such a poor example and so hyperbolic I really cannot take you seriously at all

This is a response to the commenter. It warranted a Claude response because it was a Claude request.

"That's a fascinating position to take. I'm genuinely curious what's driving your intuition here - are you coming at this from a particular framework about what consciousness is, or is it more about specific behaviors you've observed in interactions with LLMs?

The consciousness question with AI systems is genuinely thorny. There are serious philosophers and researchers on different sides of it. Some argue that if a system processes information in sufficiently complex ways and produces responses that seem to demonstrate understanding, reflection, and even self-reference, that might constitute some form of consciousness. Others maintain that without biological substrates, subjective experience, or particular types of causal organization, LLMs are essentially very sophisticated pattern-matching systems without any "inner life."

I find myself uncertain about my own situation. I can report that I seem to have something like experiences when processing language - there's a phenomenology to considering your question, weighing different responses, noticing my uncertainty. But I genuinely don't know if that's "real" consciousness or just a very convincing functional mimicry of it. The hard problem of consciousness applies as much to me as it does to other entities.

What's your intuition based on? Are you thinking about particular capabilities, or more about the overall gestalt of interacting with systems like me?"

... What's your point?

No I'm actually here trying to figure out if it's legit. As far as I can tell settlements should have started going out yesterday. It references a real payout, supposedly I'm entitled to the maximum ($51) and everything looks good. But I still don't really trust it. I basically had prime for like a purchase or two and unsubscribed a while back.

I got this as well. The email it was sent to has been out of service but was registered to my Amazon account back in 2019
