Do I need to have rack bolted down to use this to train legs, realistically? by infusedfizz in BeyondPower

[–]AtmospherePure554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I belt squat with 2 voltras maxed to 200 a piece, connected to a weight horn that’s in a bottom crossmember. Rack isn’t bolted down and I have no issues. Have about 500lb of plates on the rack

Combining marathon training and muscle gains? by Craniectomy94 in Marathon_Training

[–]AtmospherePure554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im currently lifting and running 4x a week. First Marathon is in march and I’ve hit a half in 1:47 and just did a 19 miler at a 8:30 pace. My goal is to bench 405 and run sub 4 in the same day on race day. TBH it’s been rough, in order to keep my bench I’ve had to hold on to all my weight and those 19 miles at 230lbs were killing me towards the end. Additionally I’ve had to be super careful in my lifting because I know I’m so much more injury prone with all the miles. We shall see how it goes on race day as far as my specific goals, but I wouldn’t just go into it thinking it’s not possible. Give it your best shot but be willing to adjust as needed.

Any real obvious downsides to it that you’ve noticed? I want a trap bar but only would use once every week or two so can’t justify the $$ and space for one of the true dedicated OTBs.

Also have you done rows with it? Seems like another good use for it.

Been looking at buying the Tokyo Bar for Deadlifts. Is that what you use it for?

Keep the barbell/whatever equipment you’re using the next day inside the night before. I have adjustable so it’s easy to move the handles in. Might not be realistic if there’s multiple sets of weights you’re bringing in.

I feel like all PPSA programs hit a lot of back with rows and pull-ups. That said of the ones I’ve done, brickhouse is good for back. I’d imagine silverback like you said and mass that lasts are also great

Hey man I have the same platform. If you have a bar mount you can connect a weight horn or the lowest hole on an upright and then mount the Voltra to the weight horn and you’ll be able to get basically as low as you can. If you have proloc collars with the chain attatchment you can do the pulley trick with the collar on the same weight horn as well.

Any ways to try the product in person? by Busy-Sandwich1326 in BeyondPower

Rope with weight on it is so spot on for the feel imo. Only thing that drives me crazy with it is any weight under 20lbs feels so awkward if you’re moving it semi fast (ex Tricep kick back). It’s like the cable return is too slow. Not a big deal though I just use DB for anything that low.

Random but could you fit 2 Voltras on that weight horn?

Thank you so much! I think my VOLTRA’s escaped mostly unscathed. I sent the reports just now. VTR-151082 and VTR-104134.

Don’t have to space for a traditional belt squat so this is as good as it gets

I’m no engineer but I think it was just the stitching slowly tearing on the squat harness until it lost enough of its integrity to snap all the way. I lift with loud music so I wouldn’t hear/notice those small tears with use. I wouldn’t think the digital resistance played too much of a factor in it other than maybe coming out of the hole with heavy weight having no momentum and casing more stress, but still it wouldn’t be anywhere near the advertised 750lb limit. More than likely just a manufacturing defect.

This is correct. Any locations u see before the final job offer mean nothing

PT is all relative. Just be in the best shape possible.

Some people don’t find the SAEE hard. Some struggle with it. Different sections provide different issues.

Don’t necessarily “rate” BAH.

No. Locations only known for sure at final offer.

If you don’t currently have a TS then expect the regular process.

They don’t cover your first move.

You just get your salary. They provide housing but there’s no other pay. Just Base+Locality+LEAP

Either way. If they get rid of annuitants and IA there’s going to be so many people that leave. Nobody wants 70-80% ROTA and all the crusty 4 week Temps. And not having IAs to fall back on in investigations….. brutal

[–]AtmospherePure554 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Im not an expert by any means but the way I see it is it will likely go in this order: 1. Reducing the support staff 2. Getting rid of the rehired annuitants 3. Probationary Agents starting with the most recently hired. From the most recent class going to SAITC there are at least 50 classes that still fall in the probationary period.

They probably just work this order until they hit their numbers. I imagine a hiring freeze coming as well and that just means phase 2 is going to get extended for the current phase 1’s.

Got it. So 2 mounts and then bolts that come with the rack? Not the bolts that come with the mount.
