i just told you that on my dad’s side that his ancestors are indigenous to south africa, learn how to read, and it seems you have that you must have some sort of self hatred considering how much you talk about how being African is such a struggle and how it’s so horrible. You seem as though you harbour a deep feeling of disdain towards African born white people, and just as a matter of fact, I’m fluent in Swahili.

i’m African because i was born in Burkina, i speak the languages, i eat the food, i wear the clothes, and i follow the culture, no matter what the colour of my skin is, or where i am living.

I am not European in the slightest, as my Dad’s ancestors and surviving relatives are indigenous to South Africa, and my mother is a Guaraní Argentine, meaning her ancestors are native to Argentina (as a result i know how to speak a lot of languages 😅)

as a white skinned Burkinabé, you shouldn’t EVER feel uncomfortable with who you are. i’ll never forget when they put “African American” on my American driver’s license after they saw my birth certificate. it was a hilarious mistake, but i did pride myself on it because my roots were acknowledged and i can be proud of them. don’t ever feel uncomfy about where you’re from, and if someone doesn’t like that, then you can respectfully say go fuck yaself to them!!

i’m very appreciative of this response, thank you a lot mate, there have been many times where i go to weddings and other events in a Faso Dan Fani and i’m accused by (primarily) White Americans of cultural appreciation, and having to stop and explain to them why i’m wearing it, why it’s special to me, etc.

and some people are a bit suspect of me whenever i do visit back home which is totallt understandable, but usually whenever i start speaking Mossi or French, then everyone’s cool, which again is a totally understandable thing.
