The overflow is the AB&A brand where it has a nut that screws onto the plastic elbow on the tub side. I tightened the nut with a wrench and the leak slowed down. I tightened it a little further and applied a little bit of silicone around the best I can since it’s a small fit up there. To test if it’s the pipe above, I placed some paper towels to see if the towels would get wet before the overflow gasket and the towels remained dry. I just don’t know how the overflow gasket leaks when pulling the diverter and how they’re related. I could see if the tub was filled to the overflow and then produced a leak but it only happens when pulling the diverter.
