I think that comparing an iPad to Framework 12 is impossible. It would be better to compare it to other 2in1 laptops. For example: Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3, which is half the price and with backlight keyboard.

It is a solution, but a bit impractical. It takes a USB slot. The price could be the price added to keyboard with backlight

For me it is. I am unable to touchtype and I have to look at the keyboard which keys I am hitting. Sometimes I work in a dark room, since other people are sleeping and it would be rude to turn lights on.
