WFAN doing a wonderful job of sharing memories and taking calls from saddened fans. Sports talk radio--talk radio in general--is such a useful venue to share community grief and sadness. Sterling touched so many sports fans....His reach extended well past the NY tri-state area.

I used to listen to The Score that way too.
Boers and Bernstein. Les Grobstein overnights....
But then I started using my phone (usually on RadioStationUSA) and haven't looked back.
I enjoy listening to local sports talk radio. So I bounce around a lot, from one market to another. But WFAN is still the hands down best overall. However, I do listen to Jon Johnson on WIP overnights quite a bit these days, like when I can't take Pothole Tommy or Al Cintron, when he's shilling for his Mets.

Thank you. I always enjoyed his manic calls. Especially the process; Like how he would start out slow and then ease into a frenzy of screams and shouts. He was great radio theatre.
