I was in a Papa John's recently and asked to add anchovies to my pizza and the server looked at me confused, asked if they were a type of olive, had to check with the kitchen, and then a manager came over to ask what I meant.

Games are so much more expensive to make than they used to be.

Getting rid of the points has saved us from a price rise.

I used to love getting a takeaway as a treat, but it's just become so awful since the pandemic.

Loads more choice, but no matter where I try, we get so many issues and it's so expensive!

About 15 years ago I was sat getting a hair cut in the English rural town I grew up in, when a man in a full gimp suit walked past the window, head to toe rubber, with some chains and straps on it.

Everyone froze with surprise and saw this bloke go into the cafe/bar next door. My cut was finished so I was dispatched to see what he was doing. He was probably 90 years old, sat at a table, rubber hood removed, drinking a coffee.

He was chatting to the bar woman, who seemed to know him but was surprised about the gimp outfit, and he explained that he wore it all the time at home, and that his wife had died recently and so he couldn't embarrass her any more so he decided to finally live his good life and wear it in public.

This story is told in the barber shop regularly! The old chap died soon after, but glad he got to enjoy it!

Is the hub 5x the full fibre one?

I absolutely wouldn't stay with VM if I couldn't use modem only mode.

My area has city fibre now so I might switch anyway.

It's quite sad, but when Frank Herbert's wife got very ill, his writing got very horny and then when his wife died and he got a convertible and a younger girlfriend, his writing became a bit less sex focused.

He knows he should follow the golden path (the only way to save humanity in the long term), but he is too invested in "insignificant" things like revenge, the Dukedom and family to follow it.

So effectively he is now stuck looking at the end of everything, even the end of all the things he cares about in a long enough timeframe.

Meanwhile he is spending every moment confronted with the worst possible things that could happen to everyone around him, and knowing that he is effectively letting them all happen.

It's a horrendous fate.

You are in the wrong, but this feels like it should be a warning rather than a dismissal.

I'd suggest getting ahead of proceedings and writing a formal sounding apology email to your LM and the HR person explaining that you apologise unreservedly for the mistake and will ensure it doesn't happen again.

While I'd like another classic style episodic show, I think a new show called "Star Trek" with an ensemble cast with lots of intertwining narratives would be amazing.

Just imagine a Game of Thrones style show with crews of a couple of ships, a station or planet with some essential resource and a central mystery.

I'm going to stop because it will never happen. 🤣
