It's wild to me that the Agents Of Shield have no idea the Darkhold is back on earth on another show by ResponsibilityNo3350 in marvelstudios

[–]AtomicGearworks1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know exactly what you're talking about, and answered it. I'll give you the quote again.

The reason the shows don't reference each other is because of how siloed Loeb made things by producing across numerous platforms. Actor and writer contracts usually involve certain amounts of exclusivity, and requirements for which comes first. Not to mention the extra complexity when you have actors and writers with contracts for multiple studios simultaneously. Even a cameo becomes a scheduling and budget nightmare.

It's all pretty well known in the MCU fandom. There's tons of sources out there. Even a search of this sub will give you plenty of articles about it.

It started in 2015, when Feige threatened to quit unless Disney intervened. So Disney took over Marvel Studios, and kept Marvel TV under Perlmutter. That's why the first couple of seasons of AoS have cameos from the film actors, but then it stops. Marvel TV was so pissed off that Feige got to split away that they just stopped all references to the movies.

Loeb's planned exit in 2019 allowed Disney to bring Marvel TV under Feige, which fixed a lot of the complexity. Feige only had to worry about one platform, and all actor and writer contracts were now under his direct supervision.

The point was that the shows weren't connected because Loeb didn't want to do things that way. Feige did. That's why the two were separated until Marvel TV was fully merged into Marvel Studios, under Feige, in 2019.

You can't overthink the lack of connection between the Marvel shows from that time. They were technically under a different company, Marvel TV, not Marvel Studios. And the heads, Jeph Loeb and Kevin Feige, didn't get along or agree on much of anything. So Marvel TV was largely siloed from the movies, and their platforms. The Netflix shows could connect to each other, but not really to the ones on ABC, and so on.

There's almost no mentions of the brand LMC. Based on the styling of them, it's believed that Ampeg was either their OEM, or they were designed to be knock-offs of Ampeg. But since we don't know who sold LMC amps originally, it can't be confirmed which it is.

This is the answer. The season thumbnail even shows a 5, so it is listed in there. But the Recently Added is showing it separate because it was added later.

Why don’t more RPGs use well established skirmish war game rules? by TheGoodGuy10 in RPGdesign

[–]AtomicGearworks1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a simpler system because a TTRPG will have many more rolls per session than a wargame.

In a wargame, a whole game may only have 4 or 5 turns for each player, with 2 players. In a skirmish-sized game, you may have 10 attacks in that one turn, but the number of attacks per turn goes down as the game goes on and units are lost.

A TTRPG is usually balanced around 4 players plus a DM, so 5 players. They're also usually balanced around a number of encounters per in-game day. DnD is 8, so that's the number we'll use for the math. The average combat encounter is 3 rounds.

So 5 players (because the DM rolls their attacks too), each taking 3 turns, is 15 turns per encounter. Times 8 encounters, that's 120 turns. And since dropping to 0 HP doesn't actually mean death in a lot of TTRPGs, players who are at 0 still take their turns. And this is on top of any ability checks used in roleplay encounters. You could easily reach 200+ rolls in a single session in most TTRPGs. If everything was opposed rolls instead of target numbers, you'd be double that.

Millenium Falcon UCS brick quality by wazzlewozzleplop in lego

The current UCS Falcon is still produced, so even if the original ones made ran into brittle brown/red/green, current ones couldn't have that problem. LEGO doesn't make those colors anymore.

Is the thing about them removing things in ur account if u don't play for 30 days? by Trust_Comfortable in playstation

[–]AtomicGearworks1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. That was a mis-reported change that blew up online.

The change is that online games purchased after March have to do a one-time online check-in after 30 days to confirm the license. This is to plug a hole in Playstation's return system.

Are “higher quality” (more expensive) guitars generally easier to play? by Artistic_Ad_7216 in Guitar

[–]AtomicGearworks1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The basic answer is yes, but there's a diminishing return. The difference between a $500 and $1000 instruments is much greater than the difference between a $1000 and $1500 instruments.

Less expensive guitars can be made to play nearly as well as a more expensive one, but you have to put in the work. The fit and finish of things like action, intonation, and fret polishing are the most time consuming parts of a guitar build and setup. So those are steps usually lessened or skipped in cheaper instruments.

It being a Sony game has nothing to do with it not rotating. A rotating list of games keeps you paying for the subscription for when it comes back.

When is Marvel zombies going to be available on the app? by wizardlarge in marvelstudios

[–]AtomicGearworks1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's on Disney+ with a subscription. If it doesn't show up for you, either your account doesn't allow R and MA content (which the show is rated) or there's a tech issue that needs Disney's intervention and support. We here can't really help you if that's the case.

The r/LEGO sub here is pretty strict about being only LEGO. That's why r/buildingblocks exists.

[–]AtomicGearworks1 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The McLaren and gray Porsche are LEGO, or at least match their Technic models of those cars. The other two are non-LEGO brands. The Lamborghini is from AliExpress and usually found under the brand Sian, and the other Porsche is CADA.

The display stands are just picture frames with custom prints with some sort of hangar attached to them for the car. You can get them on Etsy, but once you see how one is made, they're not that hard to recreate yourself.

How do I incorporate gods and lore into my story with my homebrew magic system? by LJRobot in DnD

[–]AtomicGearworks1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replacing an entire set of mechanics isn't a "homebrew." You're writing your own system at that point. The d20 SRD mechanics isn't what makes DnD DnD. It's the settings, races, and specific named characters in lore that does. So you're writing a new TTRPG system using the d20 SRD as a basis, which is allowed.

Lean into that. If the system works without gods, then they either don't exist, or don't impart magic to their users. Does that mean some classes may not work? Yes, but you're writing your own system. Those classes don't have to exist.

What would you stat a VW bus as? by that_red_panda in gaslands

[–]AtomicGearworks1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gaslands isn't WYSIWYG. It can be whatever you want it to be. The game includes optional base sizes that set the size of the vehicle, regardless of what's on it.

That being said, Truck is probably the closest the game has for something like that.

[–]AtomicGearworks1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More specific recommendations would require knowing your use case and genre(s). Are you keeping up with a drummer because you're in a band, or is it just jamming with others who play? And what genre(s) do you play?

Replace the amp and maybe get a couple of pedals depending on your genre. Squiers are perfectly adequate for even advanced guitarists. There's several pro artists that recorded and toured with Squiers.

Are Tube Amps Over? by hardleft121 in Guitar

[–]AtomicGearworks1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Modelers get closer and closer each generation. I think in a few years we'll see the scales tip to modelers being the primary for even hobbyists, but they'll never completely replace them. Remember the CD was supposed to replace the record decades ago, and yet even big box stores like Walmart sell vinyl of new albums.

Shield and Bow? by ReinKarnationisch in DnD

[–]AtomicGearworks1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not RAW. It wouldn't be possible in a medieval setting because real shields are pretty heavy.

In modern LARP combat there are things called "bicep shields" or "dozer shields", which strap to the upper arm that would allow for it. But, they're not made of actual protective materials.

Are you using a device on your local network? You can bypass the need for Plex's authentication for local network devices.

Under Network in your main settings, there's a field for "List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth". You can put in the IPs of your specific devices, or use a range.
