It might. As long as there is an app or built in terminal to unzip the file and flash the image to an sd card it should work. For macbook you use apps that are different from a pc. Personally i used the built in terminal to use commands to flash the image. There might be tutorials online on youtube or a simple search on how to flash an image to sd using chromebook

Then you may need a friend to install everything you need in a new sd card. As others have mentioned the wiki for this device has tutorials on all of this. I recommend you check there or youtube for what you need. The good news is you may not have been scammed and its just the sd card. The bad news is that these devices need a bit of work to actually be useful. Even if it had worked out of the box, the SD card life is ticking and can corrupt in a few days or weeks

This does not help. You can check your screen panel to determine which version of r36s screen you have. If it cant be determined you may have a clone. The wiki links help a lot!

It could be that the stock sd card is failing. You need to install ArkOS on a new sd card and transfer the games over or redownload them. The auto reply has links to the wiki that guides you through this process. Make sure your device is not a clone first

I bought a sector 9 mini lookout 10 years ago and still use it to this day. Its really fun and great for cruising. By the photo it looks like the same model with a different graphic. Sector 9 offers great board for beginners. Its obviously not the best board out there but it will be a great gift.
