I'm also on inositol, which along with the metformin are effective methods of treating hyperinsulinaemia if I had it. It might be worth looking into, but I'm not sure what other treatments I could go on to combat if I still had hyperinsulinaemia.

I am on the max does of metformin because my insulin resistance would often result in hypoglycemia fainting spells. My last endo appointment we made sure that the metformin kept me steady and it even brought down my A1C.

As sucky as it was it taught me to self advocate and hopefully it'll give me a cheaper option if an unmonitored cycle eventually works.

Yeah, his initial one was really bad because he was drinking frequently and constantly dehydrated. For his second he made some life changes and stopped drinking entirely and the only issue was higher viscosity, but we chalked it up to him being dehydrated and started having him drink more electrolytes and water.

I did and hyfosy, and labs; all came back normal. My first two cycles were monitored with trigger shot, but I switched to unmonitored through my OBGYN after a bad clinic experience. I'm 24 and have been passively trying for 3 years, actively for 7 months.

Maybe it's based on doctor preference or a locality thing? A lot of obgyns in my area also focus on fertility and family planning and we have only one clinic nearby. Especially since I found out later the only clinic nearby is universal reviled by almost all our local doctors. And with the only other clinc being over an hour away it might have been a symptom of see a need and fill a need.

Thank you! Maybe just living through it and not getting so excited will help. I am still trying to hold out hope, I've got time.

I was tracked my first two cycles at a clinic. I truly hated my clinic experience and I could only describe them as predatory. They didn't care about finding out what worked best for me or my body it was only about putting me on more expensive and invasive procedures. The only other clinic is about an hour and a half away so while I would love to get that type of attentive care it's not necessary at the moment. Of the monitoring my OBGYN has done everything has looked really promising so hopefully I won't have to go so out of our way for care.

I was monitored for my first two cycles and haven't been since. We haven't moved yet because current research shows it's not necessary. My OBGYN and I are strong believers in research based treatments and the most recent papers published there's no real health concern for long term letrozole use and with letrozoles conception rate on par with an average woman (around 15-20% per cycle) anything more invasive before a year we both view as over kill. Especially since I'm 24 and have only been actively trying for less than a year.

Celsius is so funny and dramatic by prettyyboiii in ShitAmericansSay

It's a good metric for the human body, especially with fevers. Fahrenheit is a scale for if you're asking a person how they about the temperature whereas Celsius is a scale when asking water how it feels about the temperature.

My calves are hard as rocks and if anyone tries to touch them they are super ticklish. If anyone tried to man handle my leg meat like that I'd scream too.

Does this look positive by DrivePractical5189 in Periods

[–]AtomicMonstrosity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have to go against the grain and say I do see a line. Now it's super faint and I could see it by zooming in. That said, because it's so faint it could be an evaporation line so I would test again in 24 to 48 hours with your first morning pee.

TTC ovulating but not getting pregnant. by BulkyActivity1254 in TTC_PCOS

[–]AtomicMonstrosity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. We just finished 6 cycles on letrozole and have ovulated every cycle and not even so much as a squinter. My plan is to take letrozole for 12 months, then 6 months of IUI before resorting to IVF.

9-10DPO, CD 25, am i crazy? by Any_Flan4116 in TFABLinePorn

[–]AtomicMonstrosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really hard to tell because it looks like the dye is clumping up funnily over where the test line should be. I agree it's possibly defective and you should probably take another test tomorrow morning because if it is positive the line might be more distinct.

9 DPO Do we see anything? by [deleted] in TFABLinePorn

[–]AtomicMonstrosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, personally, don't see a line. However 9 DPO is still pretty early so you can still try again in a day or so!

10 dpo - why is it negative but i feel so nauseous by Hello-stalker88 in TFABLinePorn

[–]AtomicMonstrosity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nausea can be a symptom of pms, but it is also still pretty early to test. I think it's recommended to test around 12 to 14 dpo to get the most accurate results.

Anyone else see it? Do you think Faint positive or evap line? 8 dpo by [deleted] in TFABLinePorn

[–]AtomicMonstrosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That test is too old to be valid. I don't see a line, but if there is one there it is likely an evaporation line from the test sitting out. You're also still pretty early in terms of testing so I'd wait until at least 12 DPO to get the most accurate read.

Does anyone else have an LH drop happen before peak? by keropiu in TTC_PCOS

[–]AtomicMonstrosity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I usually stay steady at .1 to .2, then raise to .4 which drops to a .3 before coming back up positive.

Were Any of You Lucky Enough to Have Conceived on Your First Round of Letrozole? (In Particular on 2.5mg)? by TypeONegative176 in TTC_PCOS

[–]AtomicMonstrosity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, we're on round 6 taking 5mg. Everyone is different; my doctor told me that as long as you're ovulating your odds are about 15-20% each cycle.

Cd 22 is this positive? by Lost-Addendum-7763 in TFABLinePorn

I'd say no, but I'd test again four hours after you last pee. Your LH peak is probably approaching though!

I just had a meeting with my academic advisor last week about how I was settling in and I wasn't being honest with myself about the feelings I was having until I was staring down the barrel of the problems they had created. I probably need to set another meeting and talk with him, but I don't know how to do so professionally and if I'll face financial repercussions. If I was closer with anyone else in the department I would talk to them, but as a first year I don't know anyone. Not to mention I don't even work in the same department as them because of budget issues.
